In an international jury meeting held at UNESCO headquarters in Paris, it was decided to award the IMC UNESCO International Music Prize for 2005 to Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis, who turned 80 this year.

Initiated in 1975 by Lord Yehudi Menuhin, the prestigious IMC UNESCO International Music Prize was established to honour musicians or musical institutions whose activities have contributed to the enrichment and development of music and have served peace, understanding between peoples, international cooperation and other purposes proclaimed by the United Nations Charter and UNESCO’s Constitution.

Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis, who outraged Jews in November by calling them "the root of evil," is at it again, this time saying Jews control the world's banks and the mass media.

...Theodorakis claimed Jews control banks, the mass media and the United States.

"They hold world finance in their hands, so it's only natural that they would see themselves as very strong," Theodorakis said. "In America the Jewish community is very strong. It controls much of the economy, certainly the mass media," he said.

Theodorakis said Jewish control of orchestras has prevented him from holding concerts.

"The Jewish people now appear to control the big banks. And often the governments. So whatever bad or evil comes from the governments, it's natural for ordinary people to associate that with the Jewish people," he said.

After describing how his religious grandmother believed Jews drank the blood of Christian boys during Easter, the composer said the problem was that Jews didn't accept Jesus.

I don't know if he goes to church, we don't discuss religion much, I'm an agnostic and I relly get the feeling he believes in something but doesn't want to talk about it due to the whole bit about me being agnosic.

I just know that he mentioned some time ago about how weird his family is and listed the religions of some of his family and something about those religons generally not meshing together...

Not only that but they tried so hard to persude the Organisation to not give him the award that they deliberatly rigged the voting so he wouldnt win but some of the Judges who were evidently completly against this Greekite Nazi decided partially because their hatred of the jew was stronger but more to do with the fact that they didnt like the idea of being bribed they decided to vote for him in such a fashion as it would appear they were cutting of their noses to spite their faces.

Incidently this insulted and enraged the jews some more because of its stereotypical references.
