Are the Leafs canada's team?

Now, what irks me as a Senators fan living in "Leafs territory" and when watching the coverage on CBC with its terribly biased commentators... is that often, an announcer will remark about how the Leafs are Canada's team... but I must ask, does that mean that the other teams in Canada are magically in another country? Does it work like embassies and the ground the arenas are built on aren't actually canadian soil?

I mean, what about the Flames, who nearly won the Stanley Cup last time? They're not Canada's team? Wtf is up with that? Hell, what about the Canadiens... I mean, their name alone implies that they're canadian.

Nevermind the fact that there's actually a hockey team that's comprised only of canadians and is in fact Team Canada, playing in the olympics. Isn't this Canada's team?

Also, I get the feeling that the fans of the Leafs who go about proclaiming this may or may not contribute to the fact that the rest of the country hates Toronto.

lol.

I suppose they have as much a right to claim that title as the Canadiens, and for the same reason too. :p

And this is why I can't go to bars that have televisions in them until the Leafs are eliminated from the playoffs.

Hopefully this year they won't even make it.

Having a swede as captain DEFINITELY makes them 'Canada's team'. The sens should be canada's team considering that they're kicking ass right now. I thought Heatley was supposed to be useless now? 4 goals in a row, bitches.

It matters very little, since the cup is coming back home to Hockeytown.

The Leafs won 5-3 against Tampa Bay lastnight. There were so many penalties against Tampa, though. Half the game was a Toronto power play. lol
