JERSEY GOVERNOR RACE TURNS UGLY: CHARGES OF ABORTION, AFFAIRS DRIVE LAST DAYS
Sat Nov 05 2005 11:06:43 ET

New Jersey Public Radio & Television aired a report Friday night in which New Jersey Democratic Candidate for Governor Jon Corzine was grilled about whether a staffer he allegedly had an affair with -- had an abortion.

NJN News’ Michael Aron reported Friday: “The press is interested right now in personal conduct. Corzine was asked about a persistent rumor that he had an affair with a staffer whom the reporter identified by name.”

Sen. Jon Corzine: “A, not true. B, I’m not going to comment on the kind of, I think, low, guttural politics that’s going on over and over in this state, and I think the ad that was talked about was just symptomatic of that.”

NJN’s Michael Aron: “He was asked about a rumor that the same staffer had an abortion in Ohio. “ Reporter: “Can you respond to those rumors that are circulating?”

Corzine: “Trash.”

Saturday's edition of THE NEW YORK TIMES reported the incident but ignored the specifics: “But Mr. Corzine did deny a new allegation raised by reporters yesterday regarding another woman.”

Well there are lots of reasons to live in NJ. JOBS being one, close proximity to NY being another.

However, one thing that NJ has never had are effective politicians. They are all either ineffectual, in the pockets of the mafia, or criminals in their own right.

The silliness of the politics is one of the things that you have to accept if you live here.

If you thought these allegations are bad (they aren't) you should have been here for the LAST gubenetorial election. And these kinda antics go on at the local level too. Our mayoral campaign involves many times the mud slinging of a Presidential race.

Good job reporting on what I can only assume is rumors started by right-wing mud slinging. I applaud your biased reporting ability.

As I recall Stephistan pointing out, the New York Times is one of the "unbiased" news sources (ROFLMAO).

As I recall pointing out, you are doing an excellent job of biased reporting of a rumor more than likely started by right-wing mud slinging to slander the Democratic runner. This is not the entire New York Times, this is a specific part of an article referenced by you. Actually, I doubt this is an actual article. I can find no part of it in either Google or the New York Times search engine on their site.

It's good that we can attack our politicians for sleeping around or getting their girlfriends legal abortions and ignore their financial scandals and other illegal acts.

If you want to criticize Corzine then talk about why he's no longer with Goldman Sachs.

He has no link because this is not an actual article, and more so not a New York Times one, which is obvious when examining that it states "Saturday's edition of THE NEW YORK TIMES reported the incident but ignored the specifics." The paper is talking about itself in the third person while analysing its own article in the supposed article itself.

I have an idea, how about you link me to the real article, and I will post it for everyone.

It was on a PBS station (you know, the other unbiased source). http://www.njn.net/newspublicaffairs/

Maybe you should watch the news on that channel tonight, and watch them dig the dirt.

So was it in the New York Times or on a PBS program or on the local news radio shows? You might want to get your shit straight.

The New York Times as well as the local PBS TV news station. Not on a local news radio show.

This 'reason number n' construct has to be one of the most irritating features of modern English. Every time I see and advertisement using it I just want to throttle the head of the design agency.

There is always an underground of them somewhere, protesting government controlling things while demanding the legislation of morality.
