Are there a lot of n00bs about? Normally I wouldn't notice, but it seems like there is a plethora of posters bouncing about who have less than 10 posts. Not only that, but they seem to just vanish after 6 or 7.
Is someone simply throwing their puppets about, or is there some sort of new conspiracy. Perhaps a n00b conspiracy has been produced to balance out the MOD conspiracy. Or perhaps I am losing my mind from studying and not sleeping.
So, can someone illumine me as to the situation?

I dunno, but the ratio of brains to skulls-filled-with-chowder seems to have fallen dramatically since the whole Jolt switch-over debacle.

Perhaps they sprout this time of year. Shouldn't they all be nicely settled into their dorms by now and looking for something to do other than study?

I dunno, there's always temp puppets showing up... and lotsa people who drop in and drop out just as quickly. I was noticing a few of the older hands showing up with greater frequency of late, though.

I don't think there's any sort of n00b incursion going on per se.

I'm mainly noticing a disturbing number of people who suddenly appear, make 10 posts or less, and then vanish again. Its just sort of weird.

I've cleverly avoided that by shifting my viewpoints based on the weather. You'll never pin me down!
And I don't really think of someone as a newbie unless they are particularly ridiculous, or have less than 50 posts to their name. It just seems that I am encountering more people around here who fit both criteria.

Its best to assume that things like that are purposefully ironic. They probably aren't, but it has helped to prevent what little faith I have left in humanity from completely dying off.

Well I've been here two years, I just lose nations whenever I go visit rellies in Australia... but still total posts all together probably reach about thirty.

More or less, but I would like to think that I am especially bitter as per the moment, and that my nit-bitchery and elitism (who seriously says "n00b hole"?) will fade to a more even and happier level sooner or later. I'd hate to have to wait till I'm dead to quit being filled with malice.

I can't, I am multitasking right now. Study + NS + Writing novel = Not sleeping. Anyway, I haven't pulled an All-Nighter all semester.

Remember, there's a difference between a n00b and a newb. There seem to be some more of the former, and a lot more of the latter. Nothing too unusual, I'd say.
