I know about the satanist problem, I have a friend who is a satanist, and he is one of the nicest people I know, to be fair though when I first met him I freaked out that he was a satanist but that was because I didn't know about the LaVey type satanist, I only knew the stereotype of satanist. I think that satanists are very misrepresented. I don't agree at all with what they believe but, I think too many times they are hated because of things that have nothing to do with the truth. :(

You know, One of the most common reactions I get when people hear that I am a Satanist is "how can you be a Satanist when you are so nice?" Well I am nice up until I am given reason to not be. Satanists, and christians and most groups are thought of my the masses as they are presented by the media, which has a vested interest in only presenting the negative aspects of any group. Negativity sells papers, but when you get down to it, it is almost always a loud, vocal few who are represented. Thus are {sarcasm} all christians narrow-minded neanderthals, all Satanists are animal sacrificing, child molester, all muslims terrorists {/sarcasm}etc.

The media, and the masses that submit to its manipulation are, in my opinion, the most dangerous threat that Humanity faces.

People don't like to say "I don't know". People do like to generalize. So when confronted with people who embrace a religion they don't know about they latch onto whatever rumors they might have heard and apply them to that entire group. It's human nature as far as I'm concerned.
