Heres a good quote supporting russian sarcasm
(post soviet union collapse)
european reporter goes on about how this farming community used to grow cabbages and then communism came and it ruined it, so now its over "What will you do sir" "I grow cabbages again. joy."

Austria.
Care to tell me why? I mean, sure, I am sarcasm incarnate, but Austria?
Apathetic, yeah. But sarcastic? nope.

It has to be the Irish. Actually, more specifically the Northern Irish, a fine mix of sarcasm and black humour will take you a long way in the world.

Unless things have changed dramatically, Austrians can get pretty sarcastic. Half my family is from Austria, and while they are very laid back to the point of being apathetic, they tend to be sarcastic to the extreme in any circumstances...

I say Britain. I don't think they're sarcastic in a mean way, theat's just how their sense of humour is- dry wit, which is often construed as sarcasm.
American humour is very simplistic and in-your-face. Sarcasm is meant to be subtle, and the Birts are masters subtlety... at least, they're more subtle than Americans, anyway.

Yeah, I think there is little doubt it's the UK. I love sarcasm personally. It's no way the USA, I find they don't get sarcasm as well as most other countries. The British really have made a fine art of it.

I'm afraid its England. My neighbours and friends confirm this fact to me every day. If only we knew how to stop.

Oh, you meant a RL country...The United States, obviously.
Actually, I vote England. If you didn't get the sarcasm, you must be American! ;)

It is England. We just can't live without it...maybe it's through being on our own little island, and not being affected by other cultures (at least until recently). I was once challenged to go a week without being sarcastic...I failed after 16 hours.

How can 'a country' be sarcastic? Do you mean the people (in which case this all seems a wee bit racist), or that the laws and so on are somehow sarcastic? I don't really follow.
Sweden. Clearly
No. Although Fass raises the average there about 6 points in all likelihood, America has me. Of course, in the USA the average sarcasm level is far lower than Sweden's, so then again you might be right.

I think that the whole idea is to make gross generalizations based on nationalistic or familial fervor, but then that is the whole idea of everry poll relating to RL nations on NS, so I don't suppose that I have discovered anything shocking.

Ha. I usually can't go without sarcasm for more than 2 minutes. I inhale sarcasm and drink its liquid form. Every other thing I say is sarcasm.
I'll leave you to decide whether that applies to this post or not.

I would say the poll is looking rather conclusive right now - though I'll wait until tomorrow morning when NSers from (nearly) all countries will have been able to cast their vote.

England will coast to victory due to the widespread fondness for British humour, and the fact that the only real choices are British or USian.
However, I think that the Americans are the most sarcastic country, as they not only don't exist, but have convinced everyone else that they do and are of great importance to everyone else, very droll on their part.

Germans are actually very closet-sarcastic.
When it comes to things like politics, or the economy, you will not hear a single word you can take on face value...
