Well, everyone has to make that call when faced with mortality. Be it a hope of a more lives or living it up in this one.

I have read her books. But how does whether or not she is a Christian impact her ability to write best selling novels?
A good author (and I am not starting a debate on whether Anne Rice is a good author versus one with a fairly large audience) can enter the mind of characters from any background and write accordingly.
Her work has little messaging in it up to this point. She may or may not continue to write "secular" works as a Christian. People will continue to buy her books because of her name. If they stop enjoying them, they will stop buying them. And then she'll have to decide which is more important to her: message or writing.

There are no Sex scenes and all the good violence is at the end, fuck that) she'll just say "Whatever" and write a fourth book where Jesus comes back as a vampire and takes over Rome.

Alrighty. Ms Rice's conversion apparently happened 7 years ago, according to a previous poster. According to the article Freakystan linked, it occured in 2002. However, according to her bibliography, she has continued to write Vampire Chronicles novels - the most recent of which was published in 2003. Furthermore, older Vampire novels continue to be re-published after 2002. She has also chosen to write a Christian-themed novel, published this year.
It appears that Ms Rice is perfectly capable of writing both secular and religious books, and I continue to wonder why her personal religious beliefs are important to her career as an author for anyone other than herself.
Given that the Vampire books keep coming, I read the cooments about not writing Vampire novels anymore as just marketing for the born-again crowd.

I don't know to which story you are referring, but I do know that in Matthew, there is a story of Jesus and his family going to Egypt while all the young males in Bethlehem are slaughtered. It just states that they left, were in Egypt a while, and then came back. Whether there is another account of what they did in Egypt to be found in another book, I do not know.

No, there are some extra "Gospels" they found about the life of Jesus. One is the Gospel of Thomas which I think talks about Jesus more intimately, like how he was with Mary Magdalene, etc, then there is another about when Jesus was a kid learning to use his powers and he was doing all crazy stuff with them.

Hey, um, just to let you know, those books- especially the ones Lestat narrates -are DEEPLY religious. Maybe not as much on a surface level, but once you THINK about them, they are. Or perhaps spiritual is the word I want. But yeah. Having been a long-time fan, I don't care that she's a Christian now. All I care about is when/if the next part of the story is to be published. It is Lestat and Louis and Armand and Quinn and fledgeling Mona that matter, not her.
And besides, even if she is, my mother will still think she and her stories are evil.

okay just because they have been in some good movies doesn't mean that they were good in those movies, in fact I think seven suffered because of brad pitt. It was a good concept, and a good script, heck Morgan Freedman, and Kevin Spacey they rock too, but Brad Pitt? come on, someone else could have developed that character much better.
