Could you say that your political ideas and views have been changed by playing nation states.

Debates belong in General, not Nationstates. iMove to General.

not really. They have refined, but you know basically the same. Some of them have been confirmed, and are stronger now.

Only in that my views of many other political systems have become less favourable.

My beliefs have changed while playing Nationstates, but certainly not because of Nationstates.

I wouldn't say my political views have changed all that much, but I've tried to become more informed about modern day weapons systems and minutiae of diplomacy and the like.

No, but: 1) I haven't been playing for very long, and 2) my understanding of the political systems of other countries has increased. Thanks, all.

Same here. NS General is indeed an eyeopener, but rarely a very pleasant one.

mine have somewhat strengthened, as i realised how stupid, and sometimes evil (yes i'm on about pro-life vs. pro-choice) other ideologies sometimes are.

Hey, we've agreed on something twice in two days. We should be forum buddies (or something with an equally trite name)...

I would say mine have become more refined and stronger. Now I am very much a socialist. Reading what others have written, sometimes intelligently, other times barely intelligent. Like others I would say they have changed but not because of NS, but for me Im going to college for Political science.

When I was really active, NationStates didn't change my positions - it made them more rigid. I've changed somewhat since.

It has made me stronger in my Beliefs, in opposition of those whom I've been against. Plus I know more about the world from these Forums.

My ideas and views haven't changed much at all, I'm still a leftist socialist, but I have learned a lot about other political groups ect.

Just reading the threads on this forum have broken down some stereotypes and helped me understand how conservatives/capitalists, liberatarians ect think. I still don't agree with much of what they stand for, but at least I have an idea where they are coming from now.

Not a bit. Letting a friggin' online game change your views is preposterous!

Not as such, I learn more about issues relating to theatres beyond the UK and Europe, and have refined a few of my concepts for welfare, but for the most part no, its just reminded me I'm blessed:p

Not much, although I now have a better understanding of certain political beliefs that I do not hold.

For example, I knew that neofascism was illogical before I started playing, but NationStates (the General forum, to be precise) gave me an insight into exactly how neofascists intellectually justified their illogical beliefs. (At least, how those who bother to intellectually justify their beliefs do so. Many neofascists don't care if they are being logical or not.)

Not really, but I've honed my abilities of persuasion regarding my political views. (I haven't only just joined by the way, my old account Dogburg racked up about 800 posts)
