Meh ... it won't be the last one ...

Lucas will die and his kids will want more money and they'll sell the rights to someone else who will probably make Episode VII, etc.

However, I am looking forward to the dvd box set of all 6 that they will most assuredly be marketing.

oh yeah. Probably for Christmas or something Lucasfilm will market a box set of seven DVDs or something.

Only in the sense of, "Thank God that crap is over."

He has better special effects; but as a writer and director, George Lucas' feeble "talents" take second place to such masters as Edward D. Wood Jr. He's never had an original thought in his life, nor studied any kind of science; and his work shows it.

Plan 9 From Outer Space? A film critics called the WORST movie ever

Ed Wood told better stories with stolen equipment, no filming permits, dimestore sets, and C-grade actors than George Lucas, with all his bright 'n' shiny million-dollar toys and his armies of technicians could ever hope to pull off.

'Jail Bait' is a better film than 'Phantom Menace', hands-down. Even with the shaky stock footage and mariachi-band soundtrack.

Yeah, and if his kids sell the rights, VII, VIII, and IX would pwn because Luca$ wouldn't be directing them!!!111![shift+eleventy=one]!!11!:D

Could you imagine if Peter Jackson bought the rights with his LOTR money? *salivates*

Pipe dream, yeah, I know...

Throwing Peter Jackson at the problem isn't going to give you a better franchise.

Coming from someone who's managed to work "Reagan" into their name, that's a high compliment.

Thanks, Ronnie-boy.

Yes, I can imagine ... Star Wars would lose its melodramatic campy "space opera" charm. If you turn it into something plausable and serious, it would cease to be Star Wars.

It's a space opera, not Shakespeare.

Maybe not, but it'd probably give you better acting, because Jackson actually, you know...consults with the actors, whereas Luca$ is too busy concocting new ways to blow stuff up to even care about acting.

This was probably the biggest problem with II and III.

LOL.:D

Seriously, though, Peter Jackson didn't invent hobbits; they were already in Tolkien's book.;)

Episode III was a stinking pile of shit. The shallowness and stupidity of the characters completely ruined the experience. The only decent thing about the movie? Special effects, and they stopped being so special after a while.

I'll most likely rent it over the next few weeks and put it on my X-mas list. I won't buy an "all movie collection" because I don't like most of the changes Lucas made. I prefer my "original" trilogy VHS boxed set.
