Do any martial arts? Which ones? What do you think of them? I do Jiu Jitsu, and think its pretty cool.

I did Tae Kwon Do up until I broke my arm sparring a pair of blackbelts (note to self, don't do that again!) and since it healed I really can't be arsed to go back - I'd have to cycle like twenty minutes flat out just to get there, and then back, knackered. Too much effort lol. I can still kick some arse though, so it's all good :D

Goju Ryu? Ooh, I started taking Isshin Ryu (a close variation) about a year and a half ago!
And at the same place where I take karate, we do a little bit of judo. Both are fun, but I'm at a disadvantage in judo 'coz of my height

I use to do Aikido pretty fair, but haven't been able to practice for quite awhile now. Soon's I recover from this frakkin' operation, I'm going to start running and lifting weights again, then take it up again. :)

Other. I used to study at Princeton Academy of Martial Arts where I cross trained in Kali, Jun Fan Kung Fu, Silat, and Grappling as well as a little boxing sparring. Now I just train infrequently and informally with friends.

Really? I once had to spar against three black belts at once, and basically all that happened to me was I got tired - and I'm just a white belt! (although it was with padded protective gear, and it was only for a few minutes)

Tae Kwon Do, several variants of Kung Fu, Kâitaan, and several others of my own invention. ;)

And you asked how I got the title "Grand Master above All Leaders"... *spin-jumps all leaders*

This way! ;)

I ought to take up running and weights - the stamina and strength would be good.

What's Aikido like? Is it mostly throws?

I enjoyed it. It taught me how to control my temper and the value of disciplined thinking.

It's based on the "yin and yang principle." You use your opponent's weight and momentum against him, blend your weight and momentum to his, and control the outcome. Pretty effective.

Yeah, I wish I could say the same for me lol - we use fairly minimalist gear (gloves, helmets, shoes, shins) and I was a green belt, so they clearly thought they didn't have to show any mercy - as evidenced by the fact that as i sat, slumped on the dojo floor with half my arm about two inches above the rest Miss Cooke comes up and kicks me in the head, then Mr Birch runs over and punches me in the head twice.

And of course it was Miss Cooke - and she's kinda crazy sometimes lol. But she's fit, so I can forgive her.

I love Aikido. After learning Krav-Maga I needed somthing a little less lethal, so I moved to Tohei Sensi's Shin-Shin Toitsu school.

Probably a lot like Jitsu. Keeps it simple, doesn't require strength, and goes straight to the point. The art of going from "being attacked" to "attacker is bleeding on the floor" with minimal effort.

That's the same gear we were wearing... minus the shinguards. And several of us had to borrow gear from the dojo, so much of it was broken, the wrong size, or mismatched. (I know it was for me!)

But still, you definitely had it worse - all three of my opponents were young teenagers, who probably have a slightly less black and shriveled sense of mercy than your opponents had. :)

I'd love to learn a Martial Art. I used to do Tae Kwon Do, but then a few things happened, the main one being it shut down.

Oddly enough, Thai Boxing appeals to me. I done it once at school, and I might take it up.

So I guess I'm an "Other" on the poll.
