great movie, great music. i give it a 9 also...
the music was real good! the book was also good, but not so good as the music, and i've not seen the movie, but i'd doubt i'd like it, since it has singing, and i dislike music with singing.
Movie was average at best. Some parts were amazingly well done (the technical aspects), the secondary story line was okay, but added nothing. The acting was decent, but singing was horrid.

I loved the newest movies opening in the Opera house when the candle chandelier rose from the floor and as they where going into the past with the deep paino music playing the theme song. That part was badass.
And then when the phantom is leading her through the hidden passage and the main song is playing again with the candle sticks bending out of the way. I give it a 9.
