Yeah, I know, its like asking someone what is the best topping for a shit pizza (anchovies can work wonders, I understand), but since this Halloween I am dressing up as someone who think Halloween is lame, I decided that I might as well do something seasonal. So, which series Slasher Horror series was the best?
My money is on Hellraiser (even though I don't think it technically fits the definition) simply because I have yet to watch the second one while sober and rested enough to know how lame it must be.

Poll coming soon.

I picked psycho because it has a tinge of truth to it, that could (and has) actually happened, it makes my whole " it isn't real, it couldn't happen" strategy go out the window. leaves me terrified.

The original Friday was technically possible. I don't think that Mrs. Vorhees ever had magic powers of some sort.
And who says that people don't regularly open gateways to Hell and do battle with crazy people who have nails jutting out of their faces? Maybe the media just covers it up!

The media doesn't cover it up; the films are a double bluff.

I don't like horror or "slasher" movies but my wife does so I'm forced to watch them or get on the computer and go Nation States. :D

fair enough I guess:rolleyes:
anyway my father (who was evil) told me all about Ed Gein before he let me watch psycho, so I guess I was sufficiently freaked out before the movie. (but at 6 years old it didn't take a whole lot to freak me out either, those faces of death movies worked then too :p )

*points and laughs*
On the other hand, I suppose that Leprechaun 4 was the best movie about an evil Leprechaun killing people in space that I have ever seen.

The "Scream" movies, easily; the first two were actually very good in their own right, and the third wasn't bad either. It's the only series where the characters stayed the same while the killers changed, not the other way around; you actually had people you wanted to see live, not just some new stupid set of teens each movie -- seven out of eight who would wind up dead anyway.

Clearly Psycho is the best. I don't even like horror movies and I still enjoyed Psycho.
