I always though it strange when Canadians, Americans and Australians name cities after places in England while ignoring the geographical origins of the name. A place called <something>mouth really should be at the mouth of the river <something> and there should also be settlements with names like <something>ton, <something>ham, <something>head, <something>ford and <something>bridge.

Technically it wasn't Canadians, Americans and Australians that named the places, it was the English (and French) settlers. I guess they were homesick, or maybe just unoriginal. But really, Nova Scotia itself is 'New Scotland'.

Hey, don't make fun of the garden state (yes, we're growing smokestacks). That smell is the smell of industry and progress. And a couple of landfills, some chemical plants and an oil refinery, plus the bay at low tide.
"Why is New Jersey called the 'Garden State'?"
"Becase it's too hard to fit 'Oil and Petrochemical Refinery State' on a liscence plate."

I used to live right near him now actually. Probably a lot less than an hour.
For some reason, I just picture coming home and having my car filled with shaving cream or something equally devious.

Either my college's zipcode is damn tiny, or I lucked out. The pin is only about 2.5 miles away from my actual location.
hey at least you get to use zipcodes... the rest of the world has to get by with nothing more than entering the city name. as a result my house is a good 3 or 4 miles out from my pin. in fact, apparently, i live in the Port or maybe, if i'm lucky, the shipyards
and thats especially stupid seeing how google maps (proper) allows you to use postcodes (UK zipcodes) perfectly fine

My house is about 30 miles (~45km) away from the pin. :(
you're on there
Not on the map, I'm not. There's no pin in France at all. Mine should be a fraction of a milimetre east of Paris.
Never mind...

6months, it's for my hospital placement, then i come back to uni for 6months then the hospital, etc, etc

I'll be sure to tell him (as far as I know, DPL only reads our offsite forums - where I've mentioned this project - and not the main NS forums).

Much to my surprise.
Katganistan is the English teacher around here, so of course it ought to be possible for her to do her coursework and then send it to Kat for editing. Not as though I've ever done that, but then, mods don't check their TGs all too much anyway.

You can manually find the exact spot where you live and add a pin there. That's what I did.

:( I'm sure you'll be fine. Don't let it ruin everything for you; try not to think about it all the time. Just be careful, though. If you get a bad feeling about anything, act on it, even if it seems foolish. You'll be all right.
