So we've got elections in less than 2 weeks...who are you giving your soul *erm*voting for?

Corzine. He seems to suck slightly less than Forrester, even though they're practically the same person, and he and Forrester have a chance of winning, unlike the others. Besides, even when he wasn't campaigning he took the time to come to meet the voters and kiss babies at a meeting for a cause I support and at which I was present.

Anyone here remember G.R.I.P. and how miserably it failed?

Edit: I still felt the need to wash myself after shaking hands with Corzine but I think I would've demanded amputation if I'd shaken hands with Forrester. I hate the insurance industry greatly, even though I know it provides a needed service. That's not why I won't vote for Forrester, it just happens to be true.

I'm voting Corzine. The Dems have done a decent job as governors except, perhaps, Florio.

I live in Florida, but since I sent Mr. Pawlowski $20, I think I reserve the right to vote for him in this poll!

I'm tickled by the fact that while Pawlowski and Corzine have gotten two votes, Forrester has gotten none. So people here either favor the status quo, low taxes/low social services, or neither.

What's Pawlowski's corruption rating, I wonder. That might have something to do with it.

Isn't that the truth! :D :p :D

I do. I think he wants to use the NJ governorship as the next stepping stone toward a run for the White House.

Anyone but Bob Dole.

No idea why I just said that...

Doesn't he have some kind of financial skeleton in his closet? I remember hearing something about him being implicated in some shady financial thing, maybe with Goldman Sachs. If that's true then wouldn't it doom his presidential aspirations?

Dole's busy with his Viagra. He's not running for anything except maybe to the drug store for a prescription refill. The guy's kinda old to hold office anyway.

Since the entire state of New Jersey is essentially an incompetent version of Chicago when it comes to corruption, I'm going with Pawlowski. If you can't run a massively corrupt system right, you shouldn't run it at all.

Shady financial things? That sure didnt stop the Clintons. They took part in investment and real estate deals that would have landed you or I in jail.

As far as Corzine, my understanding was that he was ousted from Goldman-Sachs whilst on vacation. He retirned and for the remainder of his days before his final day, couldnt set foot back in the office, choosing to conduct business from the back of his limo, parked outside the building, with secretarys and couriers dealing with him there.

Um, what? I've lived here all my life and I haven't seen an intolerable level of corruption. There's a little wherever you go, but it's not like New Jersey's cornered the market on bribes and kickbacks.

I think people get that impression of NJ because more corruption is exposed and punished, rather than swept under the rug and forgotten about.
We dont have more corruption than anywhere else, its just more dealt with an exposed here than most other places.

Yeah. Also some people seem to think that it's an entire state made up of nothing but Newark-style ghettos and dirty industrial sites. Plus everybody here is a ganster of one type or another.
