Stressed out

I have had a very stressful week, I have a migraine so bad that typing hurts. I should go to bed but I am starting to break out in hives because of the stress and it makes laying in bed uncomfortable. :(
Does anyone have any really great stress relief ideas?
note: I don't drink alchohol and I don't partake in illegal drugs, so keep that in mind.

Yeah. It's called "getting the hell out of the Bible Belt".

I like it here.
Going to a nude resort is the best option to releave stress. Worked for me anyway!
I like it here.
Therein lies your problem.

out of my script, probably shouldn't get the refill either though since I have had problems with narcotics before. and before anyone asks yes I did actually have a medical reason to have narcotic pain relievers.

liking where you live is a problem?
As far as your migraine goes, take some excederine or 1/5 of vodka until tipsy but not drunk. Do not try both! Try and get to sleep as best as you can.

If it happens to be the bible belt, then yes, it is a problem.

:( Maybe rent an old comedy that you like? Laughter gets the blood going, which brings more O2 to the brain.. might help.

When you live in the bible belt it is.
Anyway, to reduce stress, masturbation seems to work pretty well. I'm entirely serious, it really does work. For me, at least.
Ice cream works well, too, but the problem with that is that it has so many calories, which end up making you gain weight and that causes more stress, and yeah.

Ok, for the migraine type stress-- the type where you just want to curl into a ball---- dark bathroom with maybe a few candles, very very hot bath (to help the hives oatmeal in the water and some bubbles), cold towel on the forehead-- and a cup of hot tea with lots of sugar and honey (sugar and caffeine help alleviate the migraines)-- soak for an hour- put on the warmest fuzziest pj's and slide into bed (if its cold outside- throw the blankets in the dryer for a few minutes so that they are super warm when you crawl into bed)-- that's what i do for the wiped out, can't move, want the world to go away stress ( i think I am almost there right now)
for the hyped up, no migraine, tension stress-- sex, or working out-- it releases endorphins which help elevate your mood and help the stress melt away..... hope this helps a tad.

I'd be careful about mixing the two together...

Here's an idea:
Stop staring into a flourescant electron-gun and listening to our advice. Get yourself a cup of tea, a newspaper, and a cat to snuggle with. Do not communicate with anyone whatsoever for at least three hours. Nap. You'll feel better, I swear.

Okay that is my official plan. feel free to continue to post, but I will be in bed in my Felix the Cat PJ's...............:D
...a cat to snuggle with.
Yeah, and for the sake of our sanity, please don't tell us what you'll have done with that cat.
I have a night time allergy for when it strikes about 9:30 at night, the top of my feet, ankles, shins, and sometime my side breaks out in hives. I take 2 Nyquils. Stops the itching and knocks me the hell out and gives me a really good full rest with no grogg in the morning.

Yeah, and for the sake of our sanity, please don't tell us what you'll have done with that cat.Snuggling with cats is way better than snuggling with men, I think. Cats can purr, they're never bored, and they don't try to make you do cardivascular excercise and stretching when all you want to do is relax.

Thank you for a very disturbing mental image.

A complete change of environment, at least for a few hours. Going hiking works best for me personally. There's something about getting out in the fresh air, away from all the distractions of modern life, and engaging in a little mindless physical exertion nearly always works like a dream for me.

What I like to do is curl up with a good book and a pack of Oreos. Don't read anything too heavy, but something light. Personally, I like mystery, science fiction and romance novels.

I can relate to the stress. My back is all screwed up, I can't sleep, and I've got registration in the morning.

I get an occasional migraine that is crippling in intensity. I take a hot bath, as hot as can be tolerated, and pop an oxycontin (I have a prescription). Make sure the room is dark.
Then lie in bed on my back, attempting to have straight spinal alignment, no pillow. I do concious relaxation exercises, concentrating on on various parts of my upper body, including the muscles in my neck, jaw, and face. Relax those mucles.
This usually results in sleep, or at least an unconcious state, and considerably reduced pain.
