Looks like I've got a few more options than I thought.

Well, A few nights ago, I e-mailed my sister about how my dad's been treating me like shit (seriously), and she says she knows what I'm going through.

Guess what?

She's offered to set me up at her place, get me a crappy car (yay!), and put me in the local high school (5,000+ students). She's also offered to get me into the University of Texas at Austin when I graduate!

Looks like things are finally going my way...

Well, seeing as you were the first person to post, I was expecting something like this. :p

I'm a wee bit used to people responding sooner than that, so there.

Well... it sounds like a good idea, and I'd be happy for you if it works out, if this really is what you want. I neither know much about you nor your family. I'm assuming you're either under age or in college and not earning enough to get your own place, and this is exactly what might cause you problems. If you wan't to move out, you're gonna have to find a way to finance ...everything, because more than likely your parents aren't going to approve?
But if it does work out somehow, I'm sure it'd be great!
I never had a sister, but when I first moved away from home I shared an apartment with three other girls and we had a great time! *sigh*... oh, the memories ;)

How is she planning to pay for putting you up? Or are you gonna have to get a job and contribute?
Potaria
26-10-2005, 20:07
Well, she and her husband make about $85,000 a year total. Oh, there's no doubt I'd get a job to help out, but it'd have to be after I graduate.

She's just excited about me being a normal person, and is pissed off at the same time because our dad's treating me like dog shit because of who I am. She's even buying me an electric guitar, which adds to the level of ass-kicking.

You want my suggestion? Try not to take this the wrong way, but.....get out of Texas. My friend Erica transferred from here to Texas (I think the Dallas area, not sure though) while she was still in high school and she said that the standards of education are SO much lower in Texas. As a matter of fact, I could put you up in my spare bedroom if you want to go to my old high school, and by that point you'd probably be eligable for in-state tuition to KU, which is a darned good school in most respects, but then, I don't know you. And we'd probably fight over who has to use the downstairs computer, as my computer is ALREADY set up in said spare bedroom. So....in short....nevermind. Good luck in a fair-sized high school, hope your dad stops being a prick.....and what do you plan to study after high school, anyway?

Well, in Texas, it all depends on the school you go to, as there is no set standard for a cirriculum. Clear Lake High is supposed to have a pretty high standard, though I'll have to see for myself.

As for college, it depends on where my mind is set when I want to go. I might just say "fuck this" and go overseas in an exchange program.

"Floyd the Barber" by Nirvana is a great one for pissing people off (and it's easy). Bonus points if you sing the lyrics.

Potaria, someday when you're dad is old and frail, he'll come to you. He'll look you in the eyes, tears streaming from his. You hold him and....throw him in a car and put his ass in a nursing home.

Always be good to your kids, because they'll put you in a third-rate nursing home.

Well, no matter what university I go to, it'll involve music. I'd also like to learn a few languages (Latin and Japanese). I don't know exactly what other courses I'll take, but they will not be borning. Physics, perhaps.
