Last night the 16-member NOJO played the final stop of their first tour; led by Irvin Mayfield, whose father is still missing after the flooding of New Orleans, the Orchestra played to a nearly sold-out audience. The first piece was composed by Duke Ellingtion and allowed Orchestra members room to flex their their solo muscles. With four trumpets, the youngest only seventeen, each of whom could who could hit screechingly high notes, there was power enough to fill the music hall. The tenor sax player, who appeared to be about 60-yrs-old, gave several solos that had the crowd cheering and his band-mates offering congratulations. The concert last about one-hunderd and fifteen minutes; and ended with the crowd cheering wildly and hoping that NOJO would be back soon.

Ya, should a been there.
