I've been stressing out!
It's less than a week before Halloween, and I STILL don't have a costume!
I'm going down to Madison for the giant drunken Halloween festival (gotta love giant college campuses :D )
But I need a damn costume!
What should I go as???

CLASSIC! I'm Catholic and I love it. Nothing like a little blashepmy to finish the day. By the way, I'm shopping around for a new religion. I only abandoned Islam after discovering they can'y drink... So Judaism seems a natural step. What do you guys have to offer in the way of perks?

well, as far as drinking goes, we have nothing against it. in fact on certain days, drinking is considered to be a mitzvah (a good deed), as it makes you happy and joyfull. i also like our greater emphasis on doing mitzvot, rather than not doing sins

You've just about sold me. One thing, do you have any sects that are ok on the shellfish thing? Because being Catholic we get a whole day every week to pig out on seafood and I don't want to abandon that...

The fifth columnist: A Communist/Capitalist/Foreign or whatever subversionist that is pretending to be you. Works best if you have an ID card that tells everyone you're not you (and are therefore dressed up as someone that's dressed up as you).
I'm X: Find a friend, tell everyone you're him/her and have your friend do the same.

in my experience, most jews don't keep kosher nowadays due to the practical aspects. the only people i know who do are the Rabbi and his family (and the previous ones). though rabbis don't like people not keeping kosher, they won't dislike you too much for it, i think. though admittedly, adelaide is pretty small so they wouldn't get too far discriminating in that area.
we have 2 sinagogues, orthadox and liberal, i go to the orthadox one
Oh, and before anyone throws out any more ideas...
...there will be excessive alcohol consumption where I'm going, so a costume with a mask that impedes drinking is not gonna work too well. :p

In the windows, or on the front porch...if you put them on the porch they tend to get stolen/smashed however.
I haven't dressed up as a character since 1st grade, when I was a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. :)
I've been leaning towards a pirate...but I'm still open for other ideas.
I remember my last years halloween... I was trick or treating with my mates and some random surfie guys walked past and yelled out "goth".... I was like "umm it's halloween...":rolleyes:

I once had a random encounter witha group of smurfs in glasgow one night they got thrown out of the pub after attempting to leave smurf prints on various parts of of anatomy belonging to acouple of girls in our party...
All in all it was very odd.
As for suggestions: Well MAd max characters and Nordic warriors are always good (or do i juts like an excuse to waer leahter in public ;) )
Go naked. That'll scare people.
