"jazz step", "jazz 'n' bass", any kind of smooth jazz mixed with drum n bass... anybody like or can recommend any artists/places to download? failing that, any dnb fans in general here?

my taste in music is expanding, as ever, and i've recently taken a liking to dnb, jungle, and the jazzier aspects of this music as of late - hence i seek advice :)

go to gendou.com
you have to register to download, but its free. search for cowboy bebop. it's anime music, but some of the jazzier stuff is pretty good. i recommend "adieu," "Butterfly," "Tank," "Mushroom Hunting," "Ask DNA," "Space Lion," and "Digging my Potato."

Try stuff by "Blockhead", he's sort of like DJ Shadow, but with a heavier emphasis on jazz. Songs like "Insomniac Olympics" should wet your whistle.

JAzz, in almost any form, is a wonderful thing. Discovered it as listener a while ago, as a player two years ago. Know it is what I study at the University. I love Jazz. Good drum and bass joke coming in a minute (and the drummer is not the butt of it:eek: )

LTJ Bukem (sp?) is the first that comes to mind.

For mixes in many genres go to this site. (http://www.mp3.qo.pl/index.php)

For DUBSTEP, which is awful damn close to meeting your criteria (sparse as they were) go to Dubstep (http://dubstep.blogspot.com/) Its neat stuff. Enjoy...

mmm jazz is indeed great - i'm getting into it thanks to a brilliant jazz saxaphonist and guitarist live duo who play weekly down at my local. problem is there's so much and so many styles out there i don't really know where to start, which is why i'm starting with this obscure subgenre - i know i like it already (thanks mostly to movies/tv/etc), and i've been listening to dnb more and more recently anyway :)
i blame pitchshifter (http://www.pitchshifter.com/v4/home.html)and the prodigy for that ;)
