Alright, I asked you guys to give me your ideas about if politics will survive the 21st century, it was not such a hot topic I guess... Either way, here is my thesis for my essay about the topic
Minnogue puts forth the idea that politics is part of the realm of democracy, which is one of the very corner stones of the Canada I know and love; thus as a nationalist I must deny Minnogues prediction which proposeses the death of politics in the 21st centurey. i have to do this becasuse as i nationalist I cannot accept Canada in any other form than it currently is, especially not as a dictatorship of some sort. Thus I must Disagree with Minnogue; but alas for a true, unbiased, view of the future of politics I must cast aside my nationalist views which keep my loyal to my nation and accept the possibility to death of politics. Still even with looking at the future of politics through form a new vantage point I do not agree politics will die in the new age of multi-media and manipulation, instead it will change, it will change into something new which will allow politics to survive not only the 21st century, but beyond. Politics will not dissolve, the world will not fall back into a nother system of dispotic totaltarianism, but instead adapt to the changing world and confirm its place with even mroe vigor than before. Politics will survive!
Alright... now befor you yell at me for the horrid grammar and such, keep in mind that I wrote this before class... as in I have to leave in like... 3 minutes...
Either way, I am basically saying politics will not die, but change.... I think this is fairly evident from the thesis..ish...
Anyway, comments.... and if you feel compelled, read the last chapter from the book so you can have a better oppinion.... here it is:
http://www.ukpoliticsmisc.org.uk/usenet_evidence/end_of_politics.htm
so thats about it.... please... feel free to comment and call me an idiot if needed... just not about the spelling or grammar.
And remember Minogue refers to politics as a democracy-type system... as in fedualism is not politics.... so I dont think communism would be considered politics either.... anyway, I have to go to calss like 5 minutes ago...
