The omission of "Ein bißchen Frieden" by Nicole in that list is inexcusable. "Après toi" by Vicky Leandros should be there too. Johny Logan is crap.

Eurovision sucks - it's all just a big popularity contest.

That's kind of the point...

Ah, but they could at least be more upfront about it. I suppose "The what country does most of Europe dislike the least contest" doesn't have the same ring to it...

Gali Atari with the song "Hallelujah", 1979. How dare you to omit it???

Let me guess, you're British, right? Brits tend to blame their recent losses on everyone hating them and not on the fact their entries have deserved to lose all on their own...

we do deserve to lose most of the time but he's still right, the countries that most deserve to win if it's about actual talent never do win

This is the ESC! Actual talent has no business in it. :p

I am actually, but I really couldn't give a toss that we always loose. After all, it's not as if it's a really serious music competition, at least no one takes it seriously here - otherwise we wouldn't submit crappy teen bands. It's just so obvious that votes are more to do with the country itself, and points having more to do with old rivalries/alliances than the music.

The only one I've actually watched was the 2003 one in Riga. Yes, Britain ended up with no points at all, and a part of it would have had to do with the situation in Iraq, but their entry was awful as well. I rather liked Josstein Hasselgard, Birgitta Haukdal, and t.A.T.u, the Norwegian, Icelandic, and Russian entries. Yet, it was Turkey that won.

BTW, I'm an Australian. We have a channel almost exclusively dedicated to international shows, which are rarely American.

The eurovision is all about countrys-not songs. I mean the Scandavian coutnry vote for each other, the Balkan countrys for each other, Britian will vote for Ireland and ireland for Britisn-it's so odvious. Notice the winners usually come from the same area and are never the best.
