Did anybody see the gas price drop at your local pumps.

The gas price in my area went from 109.9CAD/L to 106.7CAD/L.:p

But it may change due to Wilma.:(

*CAD = Canadian $

Yeah, in Central Pennsylvania, USA, the price went from $2.49 to $2.29 in two days!!! Finally, I don't have to get a job to buy gas anymore!!!

Yep. I noticed the gas price drop. I agree with what Pschycotic Pschycos said in regards to Central PA.

Even western PA gas prices have dropped too.

I guess all the doom and gloom people who said they won't drop were dead wrong.

yeah I was so mad

it droped from $2.27 to $2.11 and I thought it is about to be fall break and the price will go up so I filled up at $2.11 next morning it was $2.04  I should have waited.

It should drop lower, since the hurricane missed the gulf and refineries are coming online again. Plus, we're importing a lot of gas from overseas and demand has fallen somewhat.

The Refco scandal might drag prices lower as well.

If I didn't have to realize that gas has to be bought en masse to fuel a car, I'd be unphased. But, alas.

You are complaining? You want to see the prices around here? The cheapest store around is about $2.70.

2.70, ouch, sorry dude. Yeah, now that the refineries are coming back and we're building new ones, we should be fine.

Corneliu, if only that "dead" was a little more literal;) I hate "doom and gloom" people, a lot.

I am not complaining about the prices, I am complaining about the fact that I could have had a lower price but I was impatient, mostly I was mad at myself....

I am very lucky to live in a state that on average has the lowest gas prices all the time :)

We're down to $2.65 here in CA... still too much, but an improvement from $2.75 last week. Now I only pay $180/mo in gas.. hooray.

There's an old run-down Shell station near my house with the old price signs still in tact.. regular - $1.19. It taunts me. :p

That was from about a year and a half ago, right? Or even longer... I just know that the $0.78 price was from 1999 - 2000.

Not sure, although it's been out of business since at least early 2003, when I moved over here. My guess is 2001 or so.

my husband used to be a youth minister and I would talk to the teens about how when I started driving it was $0.60 a gallon they would always say "you are old" and then I would tell them about how when my mom started driving it was $0.30 a gallon. It is hilarious to me that now they can say "when I started driving it was $0.95 a gallon and the younger teens are like "man you are old" it is sorta sad too though.:(

I am going to buy a hybrid next car purchase but I really really wish they would step it up with the hydrogen fuel cell cars, that would be sooo awesome.

I was considering getting a car with a desiel engine and switching it over to veggie oil power but it seems like a whole lot of trouble when for the same price I could get a shiney new hybrid.;)

My dad tells the same kinda story.. gas was 5 cents /gallon in 1967 during a gas war in Champaign, in Illinois.. the price dropped from 25 cents per gallon for a few months back then.. :p

That one dude's water combustion system looks to be the best out of the "alternative" sources. It burns hotter than gas, thus giving you better mileage (he drove his station wagon on two litres of water for about 300 miles).

Dodge-Chrysler's been talking with him about using the technology, though nothing more's been said (the military really wants to use it for their vehicles, of course).

Even without the modification, diesels do really well.. when I was in the Philippines, I'd make deliveries between Davao City and Polomolok just about every day (small diesel vans are common there).. I'd go through one tank of gas every half dozen round trips.. basically 500 miles per tank. :) In a hilly reigon, no less.

I don't know where you are, but in chicago that's normal as it needs to be specially treated. The biggest reason california's so high is a combination of the treatment and land prices.

Crap. Wish it would go down that much here in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Cheapest I have seen here is $2.45 a gallon.

At least it is finally back down to pre-Katrina levels. Now, if we could only get them back to PRE-BUSH levels...

I doubt this will ever occur again. Demand is just to high for that.

I am in Alabama. The gas prices usually run comparatively low due to location.

Mabuhay. Kamusta ka?

Nakakaraos naman.. :) I wish I had learned some Visaya while I was there, but everything's in English.. took most of the incentive away.

Also, I learned it's a bit of a faux pas to comment on how "cheap" gas is at approx. $1.20/gal when the minimum wage is $2.50/day. :p But I was with relatives, and they forgave me.

When my fiance and I get married, I want to learn some basic tagalog and some of her native dialect, which is ilonggo.

That's cool.. it's easier than you might think, although if you don't keep it up, you'll forget most of it like I did. I think that goes for most languages.. The latin alphabet makes it pretty easy though, and if you visit there, the news is broadcast once at 7 p.m in Tagalog, and again at 10 in English, so you can watch twice and see how you did.. :) It really helps if you know spanish, too, as they use the spanish number system and maybe 1/4 of their words are from spanish.. but you probably know that already.. in any case, good luck.. it'll be worth it. :)

Ummmm the postage would be like hundreds of bucks, not to mention that it highly flammable. How about you buy 100 L there and send me the bill, it would be much cheaper for me that way.
