who would fight WWIII/solar war I?

post why it would happen, when and who would win

I think it will be in 2100 or under as the new world superpowers begin to flex there muscles and the powers of today crumble.

the new superpowers China, Brazil, India and Russia will be able to do pretty much what they want so long as they stay out of each others way and with falling western power there will be plenty of opportunities to do this but eventually they will fight over something here is an example:

China gambles that the western powers wont risk war over Taiwan because they are now too weak and poor to win any war (even warlords will begin to outnumber and outclass there forces) but if they allow Taiwan to fall what is there to stop China rolling over the rest of south Asia (excluding whatever India wants) and even the middle east? so they decide to stand there ground and fight

Taiwan, south Korea and the western Japanese islands fall quickly the now nuclear mothballs that haven’t been disarmed or sold are (hopefully) shot down but the other new superpowers will be sucked in as the war escalates

So its will probly be Russia, India, Brazil and the modern world powers vs. China, N Korea ,maybe Cuba and the south pacific nations that decide it would be a good idea to get in China’s good books

The middle east and Africa fall into constant (well more than usual) war with the new powers choosing sides if this does not end up in a world war a middle eastern and or African superpower will be forged but this will not be good as the superpower will neither be peaceful nor too kind to the nations that picked the wrong side thus it will be:

edit: I think Russia will join a unified European superpower leading to Europe being in charge (but I voted new world power because it will mostly be Russia)

That I do not think. If there is a nuclear war, everything will die, so Sweden would be kinda empty. If not, well... Sweden might still be there (small possibility), but it would probably become a protectorate of the new leading faction, 'cause lets face it: Sweden will never be a superpower again, and I say that with all my patriotic heart.

We'll realize the huge danger that both hypernationalism *and* world government play to our survival and attempt to go our separate ways peacefully. Yes it's idyllic, but I hope WWIII makes people realize how stupid world government is

No one "wins" a nuke fight.. and no one's going to fight a conventional total war while they have a nuclear deterrent in their back pocket. There may be wars in space or something, but I kinda doubt it.. however, it's hard to envision a war spanning the globe.

No, but I'm a huge Gundam junkie so I might know what to expect if that happens, *and* we develop mobile suits.

Any intra solar-system conflict would probably be prohibitively expensive, surface installations would be too vulnerable, and "off-world" colonies would be ( paradoxically ) both too dependent and too difficult to control for anything other than relationships based on commerce and trade.

Russia wouldn't be a new power. If anything, they'd be partitioned ASAP by China and India (and maybe the US?) for the natural resources. They lack the economy, and will likely lack the population to rise to the top again.

It will probably be along the lines of a China-India vs. America-Brazil continental war, with the other nations of the two continents throwing their lot with either side.

nukes would not be very useful in the future because the world will have too many ways to shoot down a nuke and ICBM's will be useless if space is under enemy control (just look at I.I if an ICBM is launched someone will shoot it down)

I can't envision this, as Russia and Western Europe have been at odds with each other for quite sometime.

However, I could see Russia forcing the former Soviet Republics back under one political body and foraging another Neo-Soviet Regime (May not be Communist, but will certainly be authoritarian, especially if Putin still holds the riegns of power when this 'war' occurs).

I could see a possible Mega-Alliance of Middle-Eastern states under a theocratic fundamentalist regime, but I could not see an African superpower.

The simple fact of the matter is that Africa has far too many ethnic groups (more than 1800), languages, cultures, along with massive obstacles Economically, Politically and Socially. And many of these problems cannot be remided in a short-term period of time.

Perhaps some African nations would make regional alliances with each other, but not the entire continent.

I doubt Cuba would be involved, as it would still under the jack-boot of the United States, or part of the United States by the time this event occured.

By this point, they're not going to buy them. They're going to either threaten Russia for them at cheap prices or take them by force, much like the Japanese did to Manchuria in the 1930's.

sounds like another scenario but I don't think anyone will forget those Russian nukes and the fact that every invasion of Russia has failed miserably

Depends on the condition of the nukes, especially 10 or 20 years in to the future. Most of them are either old or unservicable, and might not even have enough viable plutonium left to function.

WWIII will be fought between Colodia and Czardas. I will be solidly on Czardas' side (of course) in part because I loaned him all of the money that he spent on his nuclear program (and thus want to get paid back), and in the other part because I borrowed all of that money from Colodia (and don't want to pay that back).

As to this thread, the Human Race could unite but I doubt it. If the US stays out of it (unlikely) then they and other neutral nations will be the only ones left.

I think you underestimate the inherent faults in humanity. We are very prone to being stupid. I'd like to think that there wouldn't be another one, but I think a major conflict will arise with the next few decades.

I think that the US and Canada should merge with the EU, and create the Western Alliance(or some other cool name). Then the western world could force its views on others as a united force.

Its too late now, they already have the neccessary clauses in the contracts that they signed with the loans. They've got to go to war, and resolve it in a timely and efficient manner so that Czardas' payment plan can go into full effect.
Not only that, but Colodia also contracted half of her army in the European theater to confuse to assualt two third of the rest and confuse the other half with impossible fractions.
