Damn straight, because if there is one thing I learned from my "polytikle curses" that I ordered off of the back of a swedish cereal box, it is that the sole defining feature of a president is their last name.
Sure, other things (like honesty, respectability, not being the Bitch Queen of the Undead) might factor in on the peripherals, but the last name is what seals it.

Actually Hillary Clinton's association with CPUSA dates all the way back to 1965, much of which is a matter of public record and continued well into her co presidency when she established her illegal "closed door health care task force", for the purpose of nationalizing heath care. Of course the strongest linkage to her Leninist background is her employment and tutorage by Robert Treuhaft, a member of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) and Harvard-trained lawyer for the party.
You are correct in that US Democrats are not leftists for the most part. Unfortunately, a portion of their elected representatives are, and this is the direct cause of the unfolding demise of the democratic party.

The good doctor Coburn is not particularly high on my list of "politicians I like", for many, many reasons. I'll give some of them here:

1). The HIV prevention act of 1997, a nasty little 'rider' piece of legislation attached to a bill on Social Security.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HIV_Prevention_Act_of_1997

Nasty, intrusive and utterly against patient and civil privacy and confidentiality.

2). He claims to be pro-life, yet admitted that he had performed two abortions "because of the obligations of the Hypocratic Oath" (the women in question had heart disease). Fine, you might think, except the good Dr. Coburn opposes rape victims being permitted to have an abortion, a view he justifies by stating that his grandmother was once raped by a sheriff  (How exactly does that work in his favour?).

3). He has admitted that he sterilised several women without written consent when he was a medical practitioner.

4). The "There's no hard evidence to support Global Warming" (really, what's happening to all those ice sheets then?)

5). "The gay community has infiltrated the very centers of power in every area across this country, and they wield extreme power ... That agenda is the greatest threat to our freedom that we face today. Why do you think we see the rationalization for abortion and multiple sexual partners? That's a gay agenda."

He also claimed lesbianism was so rampant, that in some schools "they only let one girl go to the bathroom at a time".

???

6). During Judge John Robert's confirmation hearings, he asked Judge Roberts to comment on the contentious statement. "The opposite of being dead is alive".

7). He condemmed NBC for airing a film containing (his words) "irresponsible sexual behaviour, that NBC had taken television to "an all-time low, with full-frontal nudity, violence and profanity" and that the broadcast would outrage parents and decent minded people everywhere.

The film was Schindlers List.

Oh and finally, my personal favourite:

8). "If I wanted to buy a bazooka to use...., to do something, I ought to be able to do that."

Now to be honest, I view a person holding such views as either:

a). A nasty piece of work.

or

b). Bats**t insane.

I'm inclined towards both to be honest.

The good doctor Coburn is not particularly high on my list of "politicians I like", for many, many reasons. I'll give some of them here:

BIG Snip

You obviously do not know Dr. Coburn very well; you have taken some things out of context, and listened to the distortions of his opponents on others. You really should get to know him better. Try reading his book for a starter.

I see nothing wrong with it (Okay, so the rape one is too much, and the funeral home one is...weird), but, yes, I think that if my adoptive child, marital partner, or doctor had HIV, I might like to know, thank you very much)
I believe that it is supposed to show consistency. If I say that all people with brown hair should be shot, and then shoot my brown haired brother, I may be insane, but I am consistent and nonhypocritical.
3). He has admitted that he sterilised several women without written consent when he was a medical practitioner.
Okay, I think I can see the craziness now.
4). The "There's no hard evidence to support Global Warming" (really, what's happening to all those ice sheets then?)
On the one hand, if he was refering to human involvement, I think he is right. If he is denying that anything is happening, though, I think I see more craziness.
5). "The gay community has infiltrated the very centers of power in every area across this country, and they wield extreme power ... That agenda is the greatest threat to our freedom that we face today. Why do you think we see the rationalization for abortion and multiple sexual partners? That's a gay agenda."
This is true, I read it on the Interweb. Gays have developed a quarantine program to make all heterosexuals get stuck in one huge soap operaesque mega Polygymy relationship. Then they'll unleash AIDS v2.1 on that relationship and kill all of the heterosexuals, but also the bisexuals who were lying and secretly slipping into the heterosexual orgies.
Now you've read it on the Interweb, so you know that it is true too.

He also claimed lesbianism was so rampant, that in some schools "they only let one girl go to the bathroom at a time".
Oh those slutty 4th graders, will they ever learn?
Actually, I think that some schools have done this out of paranoia because of cheating and drug dealing, or something.
6). During Judge John Robert's confirmation hearings, he asked Judge Roberts to comment on the contentious statement. "The opposite of being dead is alive".
Hmm... I know, the answer is "A Duck Wearing a Hat!"

Oh I know exactly what he was talking about, all those slutty corpses. Horrible, horrible smut. (<---Note, this is Sarcasm. I have never beaten off to Schindler's List, never in my life!)
Now to be honest, I view a person holding such views as either:
Some of it isn't so bad, the man has a certain amount of reason and consistency couched in his nuttiness.
I think I like him, He can edge out Jesus as the GOP opposition for James Traficant.

On that note, if I actually did somehow become President/Prime Minister, I'd completely reform the government and resign. That position holds far too much power in this day and age... It's very dangerous.

Hmm, I think I could support that, under three conditions:
1) You Force the conquered Canada to change its name to America's Hat, and you force them to rewrite all of their histroy so that the name America's hat is used to refer to them from 1900 on.
2) You completely destroy Portugal, completely. Kill all the people, and sink it beneath the ocean. They've had it coming for so long.
3) You make James Traficant your lieutenant.

He's probably just going to beat around the bush and never really answer your question. Afterall, this is the guy who lashed out against black people being "racist towards whites" in the thread about the neo-nazi pop singer twins. And this was loooong before he said anything bad about them, the topic of discussion.

Yeah, Celtlund really is the worst case of a right-wing extremist masquerading as a moderate that I have ever seen here.

To most Americans, the liberal wing of the democratic party are commies :D

Why do you think they can't win a major election anymore? :D
Then most Americans are stupid. Just like all of the people who think that Republicans are Nazis (a similarly foolish comparison), who I am glad to say are not in a majority anywhere.

Obviously you do not live in the US.
Thank God for that.

You are correct in that US Democrats are not leftists for the most part. Unfortunately, a portion of their elected representatives are, and this is the direct cause of the unfolding demise of the democratic party.
So I see McCarthyism still rules from beyond the grave in America.

To all self-proclaimed Republicans: if you think that party is for small government, then you are a fool.

How old is Barack Obama? I know he's at least 30 since he's in the US Senate.

He's either 42 or 43, I believe he's 43. He won't run until 2012 at least though, he would get slammed like Edwards (who was, by the way, in his 50s) for being 'inexperienced'. Too bad...
