Spooky, but true

Many of you know that Astros pitcher Roger Clemens lost his mother this year. Clemens was supposed to pitch the day she died, but he said he didn't want to. On her deathbed, his mother told him to pitch that night and he would win by a score of 10-2. Clemens joked with his teammates at the notion that night because he had been given 0 run support 9 times let alone them scoring 10 runs. The final score was 10-2 that night with the Astros winning. The 2nd run from the other team resulted from a rare error made by the Astros.

The day she died, she told Clemens that the Astros would make it too the World Series (she didn't say win thank God). She then went on to say "Shoeless Joe" 3 times. In other words, she predicted the Astros would play the White Sox as Shoeless Joe Jackson (3rd highest BA of all -time) was a member of the team who was a part of the fix in 1919's Black Sox scandal. (He didn't throw games though, he just took the money because Comiskey was a cheap SOB.)

It's really spooky and I will just say I'm glad she didn't predict a winner as she predicted things that day that no Vegas gambler would touch.

This smells like urban legend to me. Besides, IDF, aren't you like the world's biggest White Sox fan? Why are you telling these kinds of stories? Shouldn't you be regaling us with predictions of how the Sox are going to break their own curse?

This isn't an urban legend. This was printed in the Houston Chronicle. I am the biggest Sox fan and they won't break their own curse because there is no curse. Curses come from moron fans who have to make an excuse for their suckiness (see Flub fans). The Sox sucked for many years because management sucked, not because of a curse. BTW, The Sox will win the series because they have better bats than Houston. Their pitching is equal. Expect a good series.
