The best day ever!

Yesterday had to be one of the best days I've ever experienced in my life.

The Astros beat the Card's in game 6 of the NLCS and will now go on to the Championship Series (World Series) for the first time ever.

An arrest warrant was issued for Tom Delay.

Saddam Hussein's trial, which will be some exciting viewing, began.

Good times.

Wooo!

The first two points are nonsensical to me. Explain the sport and the person, please.

The sport is baseball. The Astros are Houston's team. Houston is my home town. The Astros have never been to the World Series since their founding in 1962, so this is very exciting stuff.

The person, Tom Delay, is ... well ... a rat bastard. He's the US House Majority Leader, gerrymandered the hell out of Texas in order to give Republicans an even greater stranglehold on 34 electoral votes and effectively crushing any opposition party in Texas. He also seems to have committed several felonies, including money laundering, in order to raise money for various elections, etc.

When people say "neocon", they mean Tom Delay.

Yesterday sucked for me. I was swamped at work. Trying to negotiate a deal with a business for phone service through my company and hitting one snag after another. Plus my car's still in the shop, so I'm taking public transportation and missed one of my connecting busses. I hiked across town to get home at nearly 11 PM, and I was woken up at 4 am by my wacky form of insomnia.

Good news about Tom Delay though. I hope they crucify the fucker.

Yesterday was a 3 out of 10.

Broke my hand, tore a muscel in my bicep, had boring classes, did nothing but visit a haunted tree at 12:30.

All good things, of course, but if they add up to one of your best days ever, you really need to get out more. :p

And that scores 3? I'd hate to know what a 1 is...
Today...well, the most interesting thing I did was go out and buy a jar of Branston's Pickle. Yep, it's been that much fun.

I think his scoring is based on, any day you are alive and sane enough to gripe about at the end is at least a 2. And anyday that you still possess at least some capacity to reveal those complaints to the rest of the world is a 3.

Congrats to the Stros, but this will be short lived as the Sox will win it all.

My day just went from 2 to 100/10! I passed my Cisco CCNA 1 exam... (aka, CIS701 midterm)... the passing mark was 70%!

Thats just freakin comical! You will sit there and say Saddam Hussein is
"innocent till proven guilty" but Delay is already a felon before his trial? Damn, your a walking contradiction.

BTW, Houston is goin down! I'll put money on it.

Yesterday freakin' sucked.

Depressed all day. Insomnea the night before. No food in the whole *#$&ing house. And the lousiest gig I have ever played.

My past few days have consisted of...nothing...

Friday I went to the hospital because I was having trouble breathing...they discharged me so I could go to a different hospital (the reason is they were lousy) where I spent Saturday - Tuesday, then lay comatose more or less trying to draw enough breath to exist. I did watch a lot of movies and TV though since my head hurt too much to read or get on the computer.

The irony...I had a PulseOx level of 87% 3 days ago...and still really want a cigarette.

Thanks...I've vented.

And as for the baseball...at least the Rocket's in it again...and Pettitte.

Why was it the lousiest?

It's all in how you look at it. I've played shows of 25 people that have been the funnest shows I've had. Sometimes better than a room of 500. But I'm hoping for the 29th of this month to have a good 300...haven't played out in about 4 months...and we are ready to kick it out.

Physical pain doesn't really bother me anymore, it just gets really annoying. The worst part was the sheer boredom.

1 would be a close family member dieing and then something bad happening on top of that. I've only had one 2 day so far in my life.

About five people there, and we just couldn't hit our groove. We had a fill in drummer, and just played all around crapptatsticly.

I said "seems to" didn't I? The gerrymandering is clear and obvious ... unfortunately, it's not a crime.

I dunno .... the Astros may surprise everyone. We weren't supposed to win the wild card slot, we weren't supposed to beat the Braves, and we weren't supposed to beat the Cardinals ....

If we focus on small ball, like we did with the Cards, we can actually beat the White Sox.
