Did you find out why?
Because they're both considered game sites, even the forums.

To OceanDrive2:
Yes, it would seem to me that they would be banned from military computers at all US bases in Iraq, Saudi, Qatar, Bahrain, and Afghanistan too.
You would have to use a nonmilitary computer to access them. But then again, you also need a nonmilitary network too. Cause they are not letting people with laptops access those sites from the military internet centers either.

They're only banned in certain areas. But overall, you are allowed to have them. Everyone in my unit bought digital video cameras the other day from a bizaar that was sponsored by the military where they sold the stuff. If they didn't want you to have it, they would not sell it to you. You just have to follow certain regulations for certain purposes.

Generally speaking, if there's something that the military has banned, you can count on a fair sized group of soldiers having some of them. :)

No: no change of topic - if you look back to my first post I specifically and intentionally mentioned those types of weaponry which cause high amounts of civilian collateral casualites (FASCAM & Cluster bombs), but made no mention of those weapons which can be more accurately targetted upon actual enemy forces.

War is a hideous thing, but may be a necessity. War using weapons which cause large amounts of civilian casualties is also a hideous thing, and I have yet to be convinced that such weapons are in fact necessary.

A shaped charge is designed to penetrate heavily armored things like tanks.

Humvee Armor is designed to protect from small arms fire (7.62mm and below) and shrapnel.

yes they do. They rely on the momentum of the projectile. The charge is designed to eject the object with enough momentum, that the armor can't stop it. The people who make them, are likely to have been chemistry majors. Or they might have researched chemistry and physics on the internet. Your typical insurgents around the world would not be able to make the kind of stuff that they are finding here.

That's just a little above where I am now. Spc (P). For some reason they are promoting alot of people to CPL from SPC. Used to be the two were equal with CPL carrying just a little bit more responsibility in terms of being in charge of people. Still, I am the second in command on my team.

I thought MPs were 95Bs, or did they change that? I know they changed engineers from 12 to 21 series.

They're making a lot of people CPLs because it'll be a while before you get to PLDC. Especially if you're deployed.

MP's got changed from 95B-31B in Early 2004, MP Corrections(for jails) got changed from 95C to 31E

And the reason they want to make me CPL is so that I can work the gate, because our Provost Marshall put out a policy that only NCO's can work the gate and the E5's in my squad are bitching about always working the gate instead of patrol (on an 8 hour shift they do between 2 and 4 hour shifts depending on who's working), and before this policy they were putting Junior Enlisted on the gate for the whole 8 hours. I've been happy to be an E-4 since that started happening and now i don't want to become a corporal because as soon as the deployment ends(I'm an OHARNG MP) and I go back to my home unit I won't be a CPL anymore and go back to being a Specialist. I won't get a team as a CPL(MP teams are only 3 people anyway) So i see no point in getting it. Goddamn Army.

You don't need PLDC to make your E5 anymore. You only need it if you want to make E6. They changed the whole promotion thing. All those points that you get for weapons, PT, online classes, etc don't count army wide anymore. Now its up to the discretion of your commander how you get the points, though you get at least a minimum of 300 automatically. The rest you have to try and get. But if your cut off is low enough, you don't really need to know much. I've seen a couple of people get their E-5 cause their cut off was only 312.

Signal teams are only supposed to 3 people. At least at this unit. My last unit it was 4. But when I got to my present one, it was 3. But now that we're deployed, we have 4. Including one fellow who thinks he doesn't have to do anything just cause he got his SPC this last june. I think his ego got slightly dented cause he got upset when I reminded him I was the one the P status, yet I'm the one who's always doing the work to keep the system operating when he and the E-3 on our team are supposed to be doing the stuff on their shifts. I have the early morning shift so I have to keep waking up, when I should be sleeping being off shift, to make sure it gets done. Otherwise, they already show they won't do it. So I have to do it just make sure its done.
