These guys were so lucky - they could have been picked up by Kennedy and drowned.
HYANNIS, Mass. (AP) U.S. Sen. Edward Kennedy attempted to rescue six men who had become trapped by high tide on a jetty off Hyannisport on Sunday.
The Massachusetts Democrat eventually left the rescue to Hyannis firefighters, The Cape Cod Times reported Monday.

Talk about warping and twisting events to suit your prejudices. I'm distinctly unimpressed.

Don't tell me Kennedy felt guilty about that young woman who had her head trapped under the steering wheel...

This is about 1/4 as witty or amusing as the one Drunk Commies or whoever made this morning, or yesterday, I forget.

This is a repost, but this one's more to the point.. I wonder if ol' Ted was thinking he'd get some positive press out of this.. either way, it's good fun for those of us who weren't born yet when he was a relevant political figure. We all get to join in for a quick laugh now. :) Closing the generational gap.

Oh, and I thought this was about the news article you linked to. You're just uncleverly using it make allusions to something that happened before most of the people posting here were born.
How silly of me.

Maybe because I was better at making fun of him, and I don't even have an irrational hatred of him.

Hey, didn't you and your opinion get totally annihilated when we brought up a shitload of peer-reviewed articles on Global Warming? I haven't gotten the chance to rub it in your face yet! AAAAAhhh!! You don't know shit! Spouting rhetoric out your ass! Booyah! Liberals always win! :D

Well, he did do a good job showing that solar panels by all by themselves are not the magical solution to the world's energy problems...not that anyone was arguing that anyway.

While quality varies, I put the steering wheel thing in the category: always funny.

Actually no.
No, I quite think you did. Nowadays though, we aren't forced to use Solar Panels to derive power. No one has started implementing the mirror option, using focused mirrors to invoke high heat on a cylinder. This is the newest and cheapest method, and it is forseeable that we can get a portion of our power from it.

Yeah, to be fair, the "flip-flops" was some good stuff.
See what it needs is your opening post: then the steering wheel joke. Maybe we can get them merged; it would be like a shining example of centrist government working!

Now Now, this argument is for the global warming thread. Bringing it up here is no more valid than going, "but Clinton..."
What I'm more disappointed in is that no one on the right has made the obvious Sean Penn/Ted Kennedy connection. I mean jeez, do I have to hand everything to them?
[gravelly movie announcer voice] Two men. One mission. Where ever water rears it's ugly head, Sean Penn and Ted Kennedy will be there. Armed with nothing more than a dixiecup, a fishing boat and a 5th of Jack Daniels, they're looking to save the world, one non-swimmer at a time.
Coming this fall to a theater near you: Liberal Elite.
Also starring: Carter's evil water rabbit and Jon Denver as "Goose" the daring rescue pilot.

That was funnier, and more timely, but there's still some mileage left in this story.. someone had to bump it, and the search tool is for chumps. :)

Oh right. How dare he, being a Democrat, try to save two people. After all, Democrats shouldn't even live, right? Your ideal nation is a dystopia, Sierra, in which no one can dare to disagree with those in power. You're such an idiot that I hope you get to, one day, live in your ideal nation - only, on the OTHER SIDE of the equation.

I was here for the eight years under Clinton, so, been there, done that.
