The minute the Palestinians stop shooting, it's over. How many "ceasefires" have there been? How many were broken by the Palis? Figure it out.

But then they wouldn't be Terrorists anymore. I find it dispicable that you would oppress an individual with your dogmatic moral straight jackets that prohibit stupid things like "Stoning a Woman to Death" or "Chopping of People's Heads."

Israelis demanding revenge because they lost friends or family, orthodox Jews preaching that the whole land belongs to the Jews and that the Palestinians ought to be forced to leave or be killed, just like the Thora says.
Palestinians who witnessed the destruction of their homes, their towns and mosques, who lost friends and family, who believe that they have a right to live in a state without repression...

You'd have to admit that to someone who has no real stake in the issue, and who may also lack the interest to really get into it, this whole bombing each other business can seem mighty pointless.

The OP says that he's curious, and he isn't intended to judge anyone, I think.

Well, unless the Jews plan on dying off anytime soon, the hostilities will continue. I mean, they're surrounded by people with idealogies that say they need to be killed.

Israel easily could go nuts on these countries it's surrounded by, yet for the most part they've shown much more restraint than the other side. If they Palestinians want their land back they need to stop blowing up nightclubs and schoolbuses so the world would have more sympathy towards them.

peace is always possible however there are cultural elements and political ones on BOTH sides that only exist to continue fighting a war that can only be resolved in peace or total destruction. Right-wing Jews and Right-wing Palestinians are no better then one antoehr and for most of the people i believe they want peace. Any peace will be the removal of these factions from having an active and legitimate role in both societies.

I totally agree, but much of the world has sympathy for them already. They're the "poor opressed victims" regardless of the fact that their poverty and opression only happen because they spend their time and energy trying to kill their neighbors and that they're more often than not the victimizers, not victims.

I totally agree, but much of the world has sympathy for them already. *Sigh* the only thing this thread has done is show how detached people are from the realities of the issue. It has gone way beyong victims and opression: this is decades of killing, segregation, misinformation and extremism.
