I have decided, since this latest attrocity (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=449706) on the part of certain unnamed parties, to leave NS General for awhile. My operation will soon incapacitate me for about a week, so the timing is right.

Whether I return or not is in doubt.

I hope to beat it without further treatments. The doctor said that it apparently hasn't spread, at least not to my bones, which is where prostate cancer "likes to go." ( his words )

( shrug ) As I said in my thread about this, it's just another battle to fight. Ultimately, we will all lose the war, but individual battles are definitely winnable. I've proven this to myself time and time again. :)

It's that and this most recent attrocity ( see the "I was going to let this go, but ..." thread on Moderation ) was the final straw. I started a serious discussion which person or persons unnamed decided they didn't like and the thread was closed. ( shrug ) I didn't mind being accused of "trolling." That happens all the time. What really set me off was the decision by Moderation to close a thread which had a good discusssion going, IMHO. Whatever.

Don't leave just because I'm considering leaving permanently. You have lots to offer here and should at least try to stick it out. Either way, keep in touch. I'll leave my profile active so I can still get emails from here. :)

Yes, the treatments are improving, along with the patient's chances. I've been reading up on this and there are some amazing developments, including a small, robotic device that does a great job of taking out just the cancer cells, leaving the healthy ones. Unfortunately, that's not available yet, plus mine is pretty much spread throughout the prostate, so a more radical approach is indicated.

So I posted my earlier question this morning and basically had to get through a lot of Saturday chores and marketing - i.e. I forgot completely about it all. Coming back online late this afternoon, I went looking in the moderation forum, and I think I understand now why Eutrusca is leaving - it's 'cause of the 'babe thread' being moved to spam, isn't it? It's funny though Eut - I've never actually bothered looking through the 'babe thread', not in all the time I've been on NS. My thoughts were much along those of Hack - if I want to gawk at airbrushed people, I can do so through Google at leisure. Hell, if I really wanted to, there's literally stacks of magazines at the office, chock-a-block full of full-colour, high-gloss retouched images of variously 'beautiful' people.

I'm just not getting it, Eutrusca. It hardly seems to be worth leaving over. Maybe you're just feeling a need to move on. Whatever the case, I wish you well on your journey. Good luck and good health be yours.

I got so thoroughly disgusted with a growing element that stalked posters of differing views, baited them, and slammed them with personal insults and character attacks, with apparent mod approval, that I left NS. I've trusted you to give them back what they give as you're a much stronger personality than I. If you go, who is going to give the younger folks on here an insight into the elder generation's views and what shaped those views? Who is going to pick on Fass? Who is going to shed light on the ulterior motives of some of the less than honest on here? Who is Fass going to pick on? Who is going to provide an example of self-discipline and gung-ho courage. Have you thought about how this could stunt Fass' emotional growth and well-being? Who is going to jump to the aid of less experienced of similar views and ideologies? Think of Fass!!!!!
