Water

Naturally, we all require liquid of some sort to stay alive. My question is: how often do you use ordinary water for that purpose? Whether from the tap or bottled, when was the last time you had a tall 8oz (or larger) glass of straight, unflavored, unsweetened water?

Poll is on its way.. it'll be anonymous, so don't worry about confessing a "bad" habit, if you consider it one. I, for one, recently asked myself this question, and realized that it had been a long while since I had had a simple glass of water, rather than coffee, tea, milk, fruit juice or soft drinks. This reminded me of instances where I had overheard others mention that they didn't like the "taste" of water, or hadn't had any in years, aside from an occasional leftover icecube.. So please humor me - I don't get out much. :p

I really really really really hate drinking water when I'm at home.

At tennis practice, I run for the water. heh.

I have the same reaction when it comes to physical activity.. when pushed to the point of exhaustion, my first instinct says "water," and never anything else.. my brother, on the other hand, will actually stop after a long run or walk and say something like "damn, I need a Coke." :p

Does vodka count?

If not, I had some bong water fall on the table the other day and got dare to suck it up... does that count?

Not quite.. :p

I should clarify that the last poll option should read: "I rarely drink ordinary water," not "I don't much enjoy.." Even if you don't really enjoy it, if you drink it, vote for how often you do. Sorry. :)

I did that once.

I had a match. Forgot water, like an idiot. So my parents got me a soda.

I ended that day with dehydration/ heatstroke. Now any form of soda is now allowed near me during sports. heh.

Notwithstanding the occasional drink of alcoholic nature, the only things I drink are Apple Juice mixed with Carbonated Bubbly Water, and Tapwater.

I probably have about 3 to 4 glasses of tapwater a day.

I've never suffered any medical consequences because of it, but I do seem to be repulsed by the taste of cola after a long run, and even Gatorade tastes a bit too sweet... Some people are different, but for me, that's the one situation where water is indispensible.

For that, it was only because I had absolutely no water for a long time before, then a drink of soda when I was dying of thirst. Bad bad bad idea.

I do drink Gatorade if I have it, but most times, it's just nice cold water. mmm.

We have excellent tap water in this country (funny story, Coca Cola tried launching a bottled water that was actually tap water from the town I grew up in), so I drink that. Sometimes I flavour it with saft (fruit concentrate), but most of the time, I have it plain. I never buy bottled water, since it's a really stupid waste of money in this country. Abroad, though, I avoid tap water.

I've got to have a glass every day when I sing, at the very least. And it has to be filtered. Bottled I can deal with, but tap water is not good.

i rarely drink water normally. the exception is when i've been on the piss, then i end up drinking large quantities of the stuff, probably because of my preference for spirits.
i prefer filtered water because adelaide water tends to be crunchy

I was slightly concerned that the most frequent option on the poll was I drink a glass per day, or more, but as most people chose that option I guess there's little to worry about. Remember everyone: you should drink a litre of water a day.

You should drink 8 glasses a day! Also don't forget my favourite camping slogan "clear and copious" that's how you tell if you've been drinking enough water for the day or not.

if i drank that much water in a day, i'd spend most of it in the toilet
