Can't help you with a name, but I do remember a few months ago that there was a thread by someone who had survived Columbine. So at least I can verify your mate wasn't bullshitting you.

His thread on Columbine. (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=430880&highlight=Columbine)

Assuming he is still active.

EDIT: After a quick search, he is no longer active in NS. He might have left an E-mail or IM address in his profile.

About the pot, or jail, or the Trenchcoat Mafia? :p

The pot was evergreen...nice enough, but not hydro.

Jail, sucked ass.

The two kids responsible for the Columbine shootings were members of it. It was kind-of their resident "we wanna be goth/gangsters/everybody hates us" group of friends. The guy I met was named Chuck I think, but everyone called him foot. Nobody goes by their real name in jail.

first thing I have to say to you yamolex is I have an immense amount of respect for you.Now with that said here are my questions
1.) what do you think of the way the media portrays the music they listened to as a motivator for what they did?
2.)what kind of music did they like? I've heard that they listened to marilyn manson alot but then again I've heard they hated him for being to "mainstream"
3.)do you think there was anything that could've been done to prevent the massacre?

Hello Makai, I'm glad you're still around. Hopefully, you're doing well? Like most people you talk to, I'm sure, I have a question for you about Columbine...

A lot of the Media pins the cause for the Shootings on angry music and violent videogames... Being a serious gamer myself, I'm particularily interested on the claim made on gaming. What are your thoughts on this link, both on the whole, and on this specific incident?

Well lets see

Thekalu. Thanks. I never felt I personally did anything to gain respect, just what any sane human would have done in the situation.

1.I hate the media, I always have since COlumbine, everything they say, you almost have to take with a spoonful of suger these days, I remember the first few days after Columbine in the hospital, I was watching the news, from my bed, laughing becuase they had mispelled my first name, and felt compelled to change my age from 17 to 19, making me look like some kinda dumb heldback or something =P. Although I did'nt know Eric to well, I knew Dylan pretty well.

He was in a class with me, and I talked to him a few times. I never really liked Eric, so I tryed to avoid him when possible and approuch DYlan when he was alone. The music they listened to was KMFDM and Rammstien and so, which is the kind of music I like. I guess they liked Manson though, there was a big old hooplah when Dylan wrote a paper on him for his English class. Now I for the most part listened to the same music, except for the occasional soft music I liked, such as Savage Garden, and I turned out right. The 2 kids where fucked up, plain and simple, and nothing could have been done about it. The only hope could have been if the 2 never met.

DYlan was pretty nice, I dont know if he was just better at hiding it or something, but, I think he could have gone on to live a normal life had he never met Eric. Eric, was a frikkin psycho, and had he not died at COlumbine, im sure he would have done something, bigger later in his life.

2. Um, i guess, heavy rock, cuz they liked KMFDM and Pantera and Ozzy and Rammstien. Also, I heard DYlan talking about Iron Maiden once in French Class.

3.Not a dam thing.

Linthiopa
The kids played DOOM,ooohhh, serously, what kid with a computer did'nt play DOOM, I played Doom. I have learned as I have gotten older, young ones, thats us adults, when we cannot with in our heads decide on a reasnable thing we could have done to stop things that happen, we pick a scapegoat, violent video games and music just happened to be perfect targets. You just cant blame it on violent games, the 2 wore trenchcoats, doesnt mean trenchcoats are to blame, they liked to bowl, does that mean bowlers make killers?

I do feel though, that if someone who was incredibly mentally unstable, played a violent video game, yes, it may just puch them over the edge, but in a state like that, anything can. Same with music, I have read books that have made me sadder, angrier, and happier then any music I ever listened too.

I love video games, especially ones that differ from reality, such games like San Andreas, it gives me an outlet from my life, for a few hours, Im no longer, me, a simple man, im Carl Johnson, a guy who gos around killing people, and to me this is a healthy exercise, becuase when you dont have these outlets, and everythin is routine, you can become very depressed.

I actually did a research project on the community college I go to. I basically studied that older adults who havent grown up with video games, are depressed. The younger age growing up with games to play, like us, seem abit more cheerful. The results where positive too, any yal got a science fair coming up, try this one out.

Okay im done ranting now, any more questions feel free to ask. I gotta go get outta these work clothes.

How do you cope with the 'fame' and does it get irritating?

What do you think could have been done to prevent it?

What have you learnt from it?

What do you think about all the books, films etc. that have been made? A chance to make money out of anything, or just trying to get through grief?

What are your ambitions now, have they been changed?

Don't you get bored of answering all these questions? :P

Good to see you are still here.

If they were fascinated by the Halocaust I would call them sick as well. It's just really creepy.

Some reasons why people are fascinated by it is the fact that many can't understand how a group can be so evil, to do such astrocities. For some it just seems to be impossible. It's the wanting to look in on the Darkest Aspects of Human Nature, hate, blame, rage, apathy. It's the study of the nature of Evil. And the Halocaust is the number one History lesson on true evil. It is the largest Example.

1.I dint have any fame, from Columbine, those who are remembered are the killers themselves, although a few remember names like Patrick Ireland and Richard Castaldo.

2.Nothing

3.Always to keep my eyes opened, pay close attention to my surroundings. And even the people you least expect are capable of evil deeds.

4.Most movies I have see that relate in some way to COlumbine, I believe where for money or for spreading a political idea. However I did enjoy the movie Zero Day, a friend told me about.

5.My ambitions have never changed, just try and be a good person, learn Spanish, which I have, and get a nice job.

6.No

7.Thanks
