After all of the recent problems in America with floods, I think it would be a good idea if everyone knew whether they were at risk or not. HERE (http://hazards.fema.gov/mapviewer/) is an interactive map that shows floodplains throughout the U.S. So are YOU safe from floods?

I live pretty high in the mountains.
If it floods here, we're all doomed.
Unless we get flooded with snow, in which case it's normal :p

Where I used to live was a dry lake bed that every seven years or so tried its darndest to be a wet lake bed. The first time it happened they rebuilt the city. The second time it happened they just built the city on top of the old one. Now it floods periodicly but everyone's adapted and it isn't that big of a deal. Still a suck ass place to live. And they made it the state capital...bastards...
Now I live in the mountains, I'm good. (Well, the mountains next to a bay, but still it'd have to be pretty knarly to get to me.)

No. But then again I am not stupid.
FEMA has maps for just this kind of thing. You can get them for free.

i don't live in the US so i'm not sure about that site, but i do live on an island, near the sea, right on an estuary, at the crossroads of about 4 rivers... so probably, though i do live on a hill :D

don't worry, the weather's usually too boring here to have to worry about flooding anyway :p
I live at the junction of two rivers.
Specifically, on a hill in the middle between them.
The hill is about 8,000 feet high and 70,000 feet wide, so I think I'm safe. For now. :p

w00t! I live ina Floodplain!
*gets waterwings*
It says we do, but in reality, we don't (it would have to flood upwards of 40 feet to reach our house). Now, down the street a bit...
