I've seen old looney tunes cartoons on tv, even Popeye gets shown now and then, but it seems Woody's gone for good. Why? He was the best! That little fucker was as hyperactive and violent as a serial killer on crystal meth. Kids today don't know what they're missing.

he is on one really crap cartoon channel on sky digital at like 3 in the morning cant member which one, i think he still appears on either saturday or sunday morning childrens tv here, or one day after school time, i dunno for sure, i loved the sound he made...

Where do you live? I might have to move there to catch the old Woody Woodpecker show.

Looney toons are pretty big in the Philippines... I just got back from there.. it was like all the old characters had gone there to retire.. they even indentify their Jeepneys (bus/cabs) by Looney Toon emblems, and the kids all have them on their shirts.. of course, Woody is not as popular as the rest, but he's there.

Yeah, but those birds aren't PC, since they have.. let's just say "ethnic" sounding voices... at least in Dumbo they did.. unless you mean the ones from the later Looney Tunes with the Long Island accents..

Woody Woodpecker was not a "Looney Tunes" character.

Those were Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Foghorn Leghorn, ETC...

Warner Bros, had nothing to do with Woody.

He apparently is still around to some degree; Fox made a new Woody Woodpecker show just a few years ago.

I would also like to go on record as saying that Andy Panda, was the lamest toon of that age.

I generaly got the impression that he planned to roast the bird whole. Hopefully while still living, although givin the nature of some of the traps that might be difficult, however the coyote seems to survive them quite handily. :P

He's indestructable! In the long run the bird don't stand a chance.. he can't keep it up forever..

I hated that woodpecker so much...but I still watched it because I thought Chilly Willy (the penguin) was adorable.

It goes further than that. "Two black crowes" is a black caracature from the late 1800s to the turn of the century, out of which Heckle and Jeckle where born.

I agree. The old cartoons like Woody Woodpecker, Bugs Bunny, the Roadrunner, Wlie Cayote, Tom and Jerry, etc., were far and away better than the crap they show now. The only exception, for little kids, is Veggietales, IMHO. :D

I cannot be arsed to read the whole thread, but i hope that most-annoying-thing-this-side-of-the-crazy-frog bird has perished in a really horrible way and gone to hell for his sins against humanity. :mad:
