So whenever I get punched, or fall down (as in when doing martial arts), my head gets this pressure-pain in a certain area. After getting hit, or after a practice, for the rest of the day (and sometimes longer), whenever I move my head quickly, or shake it, I feel the pressure. I don't like it.

Is this normal... does everyone else experience this? None of my friends say they do, but I imagine I'm not completely alone.

I get something similar sometimes, but I'm pretty sure it comes from bad pill interactions.. do you take benzodiazepines or muscle relaxants?

No, it isn't normal. If your post is for real, see a doctor soon and until you do don't participate in any sports or get hit in the head.

(By the way, and I know you know this already, but: you shouldn't act on any internet medical advice, as you can't verify its source. Really important.)

Sounds silly, maybe, but it's not sinus trouble is it?

It's been going on for quite some time, I'd say at least since the beginning of the summer. It doesn't feel like a drill, definately more like a balloon.

I think it varies where the pain is, but as of now, it's above the right eye, and about midway to the top of my skull. I remember once it was near the back of my head.

Is it really, really serious? College life does not work well with doctor visits.

I don't have sinus problems, and I don't take any meds.

My goal in this post is just to see if this is a common occurence or if I should really go seek medical advice.

That's what I was thinking. I have chronic left ethmoid sinusitus (sp?) and I have/had similar symptons.

It sounds like a sinus infection/problem. I have them myself and it always hurts above my eyes, at the temples, or at the back of the head.

NOT MEDICAL ADICE

But it sounds pressure related, possibly to do with fluid build up in your sinuses. If you have had a cold or upper resperatory infection prior to the commencement of symptons, this is the likely cause.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT YOU SEE A COMPETANT HEALTH PROFFESIONAL/

My advise: Don't get punched. Block better.

Otherwise, meh ... never heard of it. I'm not a medicine type dude, though.

SEEK PROFFESSIONAL MEDICAL ADVICE. SINUS PROBLEMS CAN BECOME MORE SERIOUS AND OTEN REQUIRE SURGERY TO CORRECT. SEEK MEDICAL ADVICE.

First of all, go to a doctor. The feeling or pressure building in the head (especially if it is a piercing pain it can be linked to anuerysms, so tests should be run). Most of the time migraines, tension headaches, sinus headaches, allergies, or a much needed visit to a chiropractor can be the causes for feelings of pressure. If you are active in martial arts I would suggest regular check-ups anyway, especially if you're actually practicing hand-to-hand combat. I'm not a doctor, yet, I'm in my last few months of medical school getting ready to start my residency. I do, however, highly suggest going to see a physician.
