Time to explain myself.

Okay. As some of you may know, I have Chrons disease, which is a chronic inflamation of the intestines. I was checked into the hospital about two weeks ago with abdominal pain. They thought it was just a simple viral infection, so the kept me in the hospital for four days then released me.

Wrong...wrong...

Two days later I was back with the same abdominal pain. The did more tests and guess what...theres a blockage!

(does the blockage dance)

Long story short, I went into surgery Friday and had 4 cm removed. Yay...fun... expecially when they much up my pain order. They eventually gave me the magic button and I was feeling better.

As a matter of fact, I'm doing VERY well. The original recovery time from abdominal surgery was 1-2 weeks. I'm back home with little more than a little gas in less than 4 days.

It's still gonna take some time to get my typing skills back, no exactly typing 100% here, but it'll get better.

No if you'll excuse me...I'm behind on my global distasters for the past two weeks, and I gotta check the BBC...

Chrons is a buggar to deal with. A friend of mine's mother and sister both have it.

When you get the good meds, don't forget to share! :D

Glad to see you are doing well. Just take it easy. By the way, can you tell us who don't know what Chrons disease is? It sounds like it has something to do with blockages of the intestines.

Answering all of your questions at once.

Chrons is a chronic inflamation of the upper and lower intestines. It causes pain, internal bleeding, cramps, anemia, etc. etc. They'll never want me for the military and I'll never make a good lawyer because stress is a big no no.

The "magic button" I was refering to was, or course, the button they let you push every five minutes to give you a 1.5ml dose of morphine...fun...

Good news for the day however: I'm out of the hospital...I'm on "leave" for the next three weeks, and they have me perscribed on someawsome painkillers.

It's called "oxycodon" and it kicks...No not "oxycontin"! I didn't steal this shit! Now if you'll excuse me, I'm busy looking at porn and...

yikes. my husband and father in law both have crohns, it is a tough thing to deal with even when you don't have flare ups and even worse when you are super sick (read obstructed)

my husband's dr has been toying with the idea of removing his entire large intestine (which I think is a very bad idea seeing as how he isn't obstructed or anything)

anyway. I will pray for you to feel better, and if by some chance you don't want my prayers is it okay if I send "good tummy vibes" in your general direction? I hope so, I will start now.....:)

Hope it sorts everything for you.

I have the same problem. I've was told to think about surgery as an option 'cos I'm resistant to most of the medicince they've tried.

It's called "oxycodon"

Share, bitch! :D

However, I know what you feel. I was given oxycodon (yet another fabulous cocaine derivative drug along the lines of Vicodin) for my rheumatic arthritis. Fabulous stuff.

Oh, and Bolol .... don't discount Marijuana. If you live in a medical marijuana friendly place, talk to your Doc about it. Every person I know who suffers from Chrons benefits greatly from a little chronic.

A little pot helps my rheumatism greatly.
