Trip to Prague

Me and a few Uni mates are thinking of going to Prague in late November. However, we know very little about the place apart from a vague idea of cheap booze and friendly women. So I'm turning to you Generalites for more information. Have you been there? Whats it like? Where are the best, and the worst, spots? Is November the best time to go, or is it evil then? Is the booze cheaper than England?

Please, any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Although I've never been to it, my friend has and he said stock up on your beer, because the things there are quite strong. I don't know what he means by that, but you could try it out there and tell me how it goes.

He also says that November is a fairly nice month to go in, but the end of December becomes havoc. I don't know why.

Whats really crazy is that in prague, the cheapest drink almost everywhere is beer.

For some reason the people in Prague get really bitchy if you pick their pockets. I never did manage to ask one of them why, as I was to busy running like Hell. They are also really particular about getting kicked in the groin, and they tend to whine on and on if you carjack them.
Oh, also, whatever anyone tells you "FUCKYOUASSHOLE" isn't "Have a nice day" in any language.

I'm going to Prague next week, actually. There's a strip club at 14900 PRAHA 4, KUPECKEHO 832. Tel 272 916 825, for which I mysteriously hold a coupon for one free strip show. Don't ask.

Prag is nice...
but my recommendation if you want a really good time (and even less money for beer) is to go to Tallinn.

Tallin? Is that in Germany?

Wiki : Tallinn (historical German and Swedish name: Reval) is the capital city and main seaport of Estonia. It is located on Estonia's north coast to the Baltic Sea, 80 kilometres south of Helsinki. Source (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tallinn)

Estonias capital city. Very historical cobbled old town, lots of bars, clubs. Beer costs around 10 SEK, about one euro. Prague beer is more expensive these days, around 2 euro plus. Prag is still a great place too though...

when are you going?

I went there for a few days at the end of July...
Cheapest place we found was the city side of the Charles bridge, right on the river - 18 koruna(sp?) for a pint of Staropramen. That's around £0.35, $0.6, €0.5. The Staropramen brewery is in the SW of the city, where I believe you can get the stuff even cheaper. One night, my friends and I paid under £20 for a meal for 6, including drinks. Can't remember much about the rest of it...it's quite a nice place, though there were a *lot* of tourists about. I guess that'd be better in November, as it ain't exactly tourist season.

If you and your mates are over 21, go to the Cafe Imperial. It's a classy establishment with an unsnobbish atmosphere where you can buy the whole batch of last nights donuts and throw them at the guests (which costs a bit of money and requires you to be 21 or older).

EDIT: Evidence that this place exists (http://travelchannel.igougo.com/planning/journalEntryDining.asp?JournalID=31113&EntryID=19339&n=Cafe%20Imperial&t=Bistro/Cafe)

Du kennst komische Ecken...:D

Although I´ve not been to prague a lot of friends has been and they say it´s great, either culturally or social. Though with a kind of professional experience I would say the women are more cheap than friendly (no offense)
