Didn't they release a document one or two weeks ago saying that gays couldn't be priests anymore? Apparently god's changed his mind because the vatican's just released another document that says gays will still be allowed to be priests as long as they meet some requirements.

That’s because they realized how fucked they are without our help in their priesthood

A blanket ban on homosexuality is impossible to enforce without seing actual sex. I mean, lots of men have gay thoughts, but my personal bet is that most men surpress them.

Even the Catholic Church isn't stupid enough to have missed all the backlash against that anti-gay pronouncement. They aren't speaking for God at all, see, they're speaking for themselves...they're trying to figure out the perfect balance of hate and ignorance that will afford them maximal power. They know they need to hate on the gays, because that plays well in the sticks, but they also know that gay men are the ones most likely to be resigned to living sexless and miserable lives (since Catholic-born gay males are subjected to hideous sexual misdirection and loathing practically from day one), and therefore gay men are more likely than straight men to pursue the celebate life of a priest.
It's basically like the balance of an abusive relationship; the Church has to find out how hard to whup on the gays to keep them in line and servile, without whupping on them so much that they finally have enough and decide to leave.
