It's so obvious, how could he be anything else? I mean he wears mostly red, looks like Stalin, and raises the red star!

Mario isn't a commie - he's a cavalier. He's trying to restore the royal family (peach), isn't he?
Makes sense to me.cant wait for people to latch onto this and start protesting nintendo for making everyone's kids communists.

... then he's the worst commie ever. He's trying to bring back the Princess(royalty) to rule over the happy mushroom peasants... yea real commie-like.
If he were truly a communist, Bowser would be Ronald Reagan and the game would end with a revolution in the Mushroom Kingdom to bring on a socialist utopia. Then Luigi would be sent to a gulag as the once-noble Mario, having a taste of dictatorial power, becomes a Stalinist and forces the collectivization of Mushroom gathering operations. He would gorge himself on Green and Red mushrooms, leaving only scraps(and those crappy poison mushrooms) for the people he once fought for. Paranoia would set in, and he'd purge his once loyal followers until only that crappy advice-giving Toadstool-guy is left. Then he'd be invaded by Hitler.
Now that I think of it, Mario:Communists would be an awesome game. :p

I agree with S-p,
what a jerk!
It's like the US overthrowing Mosadegh, the democratically elected guy
from Iran in '53, and restoring the Shah.
well....,
Bowser wasn't elected,
so more like kicking Hussein out and restoring the family dictatorship
of Kuwait back in '91.
I wonder if Bowser was tricked into invading as well?
