I think I figured out why Bush's polls are so low! He's a team player! Think about this for a moment. Whats the best way to make someone look good? Answer:Stand beside them looking bad. Why the hell would Bush want to set the bar high for the next Rebup candidate, when he can just do whatever suits him in the second term, and make any other Repub candidate look like freakin gold?
If you hadn't noticed, he's still getting his agenda accomplished. He's got one on the SCOTUS, and another on the way(trust me, it will happen). He's got the Repubs all heated up about Social Security. He's got terrorists cursing his name. What the hell does he need poll numbers for? Answer: He doesn't. The lower he goes, the better the next Repub Pres candidate will look!
Look out Democrats, you thought Bush was dumb, and it will be your downfall!

The next Republican candidate will have to carry Bush's baggage (given the oppertunity 57% of the country would vote him out now). There is also more then anger at Bush, the Republican Congress'es approval rating is in the ditch (and with corruption scandels popping up all over the place it will not get better). The next election is in 2006, which will decide control of the House and Senate, the fate of Bush's remaining domestic agenda and the moral of the Republican Party.
Also, you will have noticed that the Republican policies are not working, the ideals of small government and fiscal responsibility have been ignored, and there is a wide feeling that the current system of government (which the Republicans have led for over five years) is completely broken.
I predict there is going to be a defeat for the Republicans in the short-term and a long term backlash against conservatism equal to the 70/80's backlash against liberalism.

Haven't you noticed prominent Repubs distancing themselves from the administration?
And PLEASE don't give the people too much credit, our attention span is very limited.
All we need is a nice smile, and some encouraging words.
