Women on the prowl

Beer and Guns

Back before I got married my friends and I would go out looking to hook up and party with like minded females ..no date no prospecting for a future mate and all the bullshit that it entails...just straight up wenching .
I have noticed that the tables have turned quite a bit and now its the WOMEN out prowling looking to hook up and making no bones about it .
I go out with my buddies once a week so I have a fairly good idea of the friday night scene. :D
In fact it happened again tonight that a group of women came into my favorite spot to celibrate a birthday and a few of us including myself were requested to become party favors..for lack of a better description :D
I was wondering if I am the only one who has noticed that the worm has turned so to speak . how does it feel to be the hunted instaed of the hunter ?

Why not? Don't you like being respected?

Aren't you?

Only while you sleep. ;)

No shit, Sherlock! He's gayer than a pink zebra!

Right, thanks for that.

And since when did zebra=gay? They'd be a pretty shitty animal then, wouldn't they?

Heteronormativity doesn't respect me.

Only while you sleep.

Oh, we wouldn't be sleeping...

And since when did zebra=gay? They'd be a pretty shitty animal then, wouldn't they?

No, they'd be the coolest one.

How? By making you feel excluded from the topic?

No, by simply being heteronormative.

No, by simply being heteronormative.
So there shouldn't be any rules at all? No norms to rule the behavior of people?

Why? Would homonormatives be fine? Why?
Fass

Why?

Because they're bad.

Would homonormatives be fine?

Nope.

Why?

Because they would also be bad, seeing as not everyone is blessed to be gay.

Because they're bad.

Are they bad because they're normatives or because they're hetero- or homo- or whatevero-?

Furthermore, how is a topic about how the role of women in a heterosexual courtship have changed a heteronormative? Don't heterosexuals have a right to discuss their sexuality?

Oh it sucks big time. But it had to happen

Men got more and more shy about asking women out, until nobody asked anyone out. And the women got pissed and decided to take the proverbial bull by the horns. Which ends up making a lot of guys feel even more lame, because they feel like they've failed at something that was their responsibility to do.

I'm about halfway in between all of this, asking women out and getting asked out about fifty-fifty.

On the plus side it's nice to know I can dress up now without women assuming I'm gay.

The world has changed and some of us have no need for ancient religions while other have learned to accept themselves and fought for society to accept them. Learn to live with it.

A little bit from column A, a little bit from column B. There you are again, trying to restrict us to one or the other in a binary system.

It isn't, or at least if it was I was ignoring that bit, like I always do. Your meddlesome post was, however.

Don't heterosexuals have a right to discuss their sexuality?

Sure they do. As have I. You're the only one so far in this thread trying to restrict anyone's right to talk about their sexuality, so you should be asking yourself that question.

I think men felt a bit lost for a while, not knowing exactly what to do to not come across like an overbearing chauvinistic pig, without at the same time not being seen as a wimp. I think women are being more aggressive to show that it's ok to want to have a good time. I guess.

I have noticed the same thing, women 'traveling in packs' more than before. To some extent I think it's a means of being safe while going out. In another way these women egg one another on to go ahead and talk to a guy they might be hesitant to approach if they were alone. I think women asking guys out basically is neutral but in some ways I think men aren't really ready to be asked out by women, for some men it sort of messes up the dynamics.
I personally find the whole going out in packs either male or female a bit wierd but then I'm older and that didn't happen so much when I was younger. Maybe it's not all that wierd, hey whatever works!

It's all about the group sex, man. Women travelling in packs are in truth only looking for one guy, and then they want take him away for an orgy.

Often, they have to compromise and pick up multiple blokes for boring, unsatisying one on one, but with a little help from your friend rohypnol, you can be the guy who gets to do 'em all!

So, normatives are bad as well as classifying people according to their sexual preference?
I can say I agree with the second but not with the first. And here is why.

Whether or not one considers them important, differences amongst individuals exist. These may be cultural, social, etc. Diversity means not only that these differences are tolerated, but that they coexist and thrive in an environment of peace and understanding. Now, the way that can happen is 1) being aware of this differences, and 2) respecting the normatives that each of these cultures have.

It isn't, or at least if it was I was ignoring that bit, like I always do. Your meddlesome post was, however.
It wasn't really your first intervention that prompted this long list of questions, as I understand it could serve as a comparison between homo and hetero cultures and the reply was meant only in jest, though I see not taken as such. That doesn't bother me since that's a very common occurence in the internet.

What I don't understand is the almost automatic classification of a normative as "heteronormative" and using that as a reason to not respect it.

Even if I had meant it, wanting to keep a thread on topic in an internet forum can't hardly be considered "hetero," and even if it was I believe it's worthy of consideration, just as any normative that any other community has come up for itself.

Sure they do. As have I. You're the only one so far in this thread trying to restrict anyone's right to talk about their sexuality, so you should be asking yourself that question.
Actually, no. As I said, my first reply was meant only in jest, not serious. C'mon, you really think I'm serious about keeping an NS thread on topic?
What I don't like too much is the unwillingness to respect other's normatives, whether you're gay, straigh, or a flamenco dancer.

Or maybe I'm just getting old.
