I believe this cartoon sums the whole situation up in a very funny manner. This has been one bad year for the GOP.

"Absolute power corrupts absolutly."

I don't remember who said that but when one party controls the Senate, the House of Reps., the Supreme Court, and the White House, expect there to be abuse of power no matter who's in charge.

It's that simple.

Well, that's only using the enemy's own standards.

2 wrongs make a right?

I'm no great fan of eather party, but we would be wrong to presume guilt before a trial.

You don't need guilt when it comes to politics -- indictments are enough to ruin most all political careers -- though guilt always helps (see Dan Rostenkowski).

Rather unfortunate that mere accusations could ruin careers.

Yeah. It's especially bad when the accusations turn out to not only be false, but rather flimsy...you hear me, Ken Starr and the Swift Boat Veterans!?

These are not mere accusations. Jack Abromoff is definatelly going to jail.

Then there is the issue of behavior and ethics, even if they manage to dodge illegality this behavior is unethical and suspicous (I'd also like to remind everyone that because Public Officals have greater power then everyone else they have to be held to a higher standird).

It's sad that Bill Clinton is known more for his sexual escapades than his presidency.

And this is coming from a conservative(ish)!
