The best possible purpose of this thread is to bring songs to my attention that I might not have heard before.

It's highly dependent on how you define rock and roll. Which is why I tend to not venture opinions on stuff like this, despite my massive intellect.

haha...and so modest too ;)
I tend to agree with you. I know its so insanely objective...but I figure, whats the harm in me saying I like these songs? Worst that happens is someone says they suck, and I say "oh. okay." and continue to listen to them religiously
#1: The Sex Pistols - Anarchy In The U.K.
#2: Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
#3: Black Sabbath - Iron Man
#4: AC/DC - Highway To Hell
#5: The Clash - White Riot
Those are mine... However, I feel that Anarchy In The U.K. is the most important piece of Rock 'n' Roll ever. Its impact is still going, 29 years after its initial release.

True, true, all true, especially the bit about my modesty, which I have by the bucket load.

Not to be a pedant, but how can you say top 5 songs, then put 'side 2 of abbey road' as your first? That's 8 songs there alone!
