what map maker do you use to show your nation? because paint dosn't seem to be too good

Sim City 3000 and paint. Just make the terrain, take screenshot, transfer to paint and go nuts.
I haven't properly made a map for my nation. I have a map of my region, but I haven't placed my country yet.
Used Corel Draw for it...
I used Appleworks for my map and saved it as JPEG, but I'm really good at it anyway. If I could, I'd design my own program.

I haven't used it to much (just fiddling around) but just making the terrain, putting a powerplant in, making small clumps of things then demolishing what you don't need turns out pretty sweet.
