Here is my Technocratic party manifesto

basic principles

1) using an almost completely automated industry only around 2% of the population will work

2) working will be highly encouraged in society as heroic work

3) every citizen will be given an allowance based upon there value and there requirements e.g. money for children, money for hobbies

4) factories will be put under government control and planned economics will be used instead of free market

the party's objectives

1) free education and healthcare from cradle to grave

2) I.D and creationism will be taught in school with special classes and open discussions about each theory

3) rehabilitation will be almost completely used instead of prisons unless the criminal is completely incurable in which the death penalty will be used

4) citizens must pass political classes in order to vote and the age to vote will be abolished

5) public services will be expanded and aim to entertain the non-working society

6) Genetic Modification will be put under government control in which a group of top scientists and doctors will decide what Genetic Modification is to be allowed

7) I.D cards will be used to deter illegal immigrants

8) guns will be banned

9) police will be given non-lethal weapons instead of guns

10) compulsory education up to the age of 18

please post your support, arguments and suggestions

On number 3, who decides whether a criminal is completely incurable?

On number 4, who creates the tests?

On number 9, what do you define as non-lethal weapons?

Simple problem, without the ability for private companies to make profits there does not exist any incentive to increase technology, minimse costs, tailor to the desires of consumers, etc.

I find your entire system and policy reprehensible, I would never vote for you. That's my argument. Sorry! :(

Here is my Technocratic party manifesto 2) I.D and creationism will be taught in school with special classes and open discussions about each theory

Whoa! Missed this. Not only do they lack even a basic grasp of economics but they are also religious fundamentalists. Real crazy ideology this one. I'd give it a wide berth if I were you.

4) citizens must pass political classes in order to vote and the age to vote will be abolished
This tool is designed to instal a tyranny, simple as that.

Actually, that rule wouldn't be so bad. Given an equal opportunity for each (Evolution and Creationism/ID) both groups would be quiet. There would be the occasional hysterical debate about why Creationism and ID is taught in school, but you could make them seperate classes, and while they may be required, leave it as a course option more than anything.

It would be an utter waste of time, as ID is an unscientific fantasy and has no place in a place of learning. Why should any religion be taught in school? But there is no reason to soil this thread with that same argument.

New Dracora's checklist

Basic principles
1) Unrealistic. Not only does a nation need a viable workforce to survive but citizen's also need work to keep them busy and give them a sense of well being and purpose. It is no fun being unemployed, despite what the conservative right thinks.
2) Heroic? Also contradicts the above statement.
3) In New Dracora, welfare is also know as payroll (since the government owns all local industry). *tick*
4) Local industry only (New Dracora competes on the global stage as a whole). *tick*

Party objective's
1) *tick*
2) We have electives on theology for those who wish to study it... what the hell is ID? *tick*
3) With the exception of the death penalty... *tick*
4) That's just wrong on so many levels. A true technocracy is supposed to give positions to people based on ability, not vote... of course, New Dracora is a bit different - since everyone is so damn smart and we have a diverse mix of people and backgrounds there is normally many who could fit higher government positions rather than the typical few. As such, we are a Representive Technocracy... runners are nominated by the government and the people decide. If the people do not approve of the chosen candidates there is a 'none of the above' option.
5) All society should be working, thus earning their entertainment.
6) We have no restrictions on Genetic research but it's kinda a mute point since all facilities are public-owned.
7) New Dracora has an open immigration policy. Nuff said.
8) Among the non-military and non-law enforcement... *tick*
9) A non-existant crime rate means our police can act as a secondary army (much like in France I believe), so our police carry all types of firearms including non-lethal. Different tools for different jobs.
10) New Dracora recognises not all learning is academic and thus does not force citizens to stay in schools if they do not wish to.

that is why hobbies have been encouraged and allot will be proposed in the public sector for a sense of well being

2) Heroic? Also contradicts the above statement.

not really its to counter the people who won't want to work

2) We have electives on theology for those who wish to study it... what the hell is ID? *tick*

intelligent design

4) That's just wrong on so many levels. but of course that’s what the classes would be for

5) All society should be working, thus earning their entertainment.

but working on what is the question?

Whoa! Missed this. Not only do they lack even a basic grasp of economics but they are also religious fundamentalists. Real crazy ideology this one. I'd give it a wide berth if I were you.

1) I don't think you quite understand technocracy's economic design

2) because all those who teach largely believed theory's are nuts eh?

This tool is designed to instal a tyranny, simple as that.

so your saying that politically educated citizens will elect a dictator more than anyone else?

Simple problem, without the ability for private companies to make profits there does not exist any incentive to increase technology, minimse costs, tailor to the desires of consumers, etc.

so having 98% of the population with college degrees going about with there own little projects know one would develop any of those?

On number 3, who decides whether a criminal is completely incurable?

the prison psychologists you would think

On number 4, who creates the tests?

groups who are banned from having connections to the government other than a fixed funding

On number 9, what do you define as non-lethal weapons?

......a weapon that’s non-lethal

Heil Hitler!

I'm not even going to bother answering that
