The elections are long gone. You've had some time to re-consider them. Who would you NOW vote for?

I don't regret voting for Bush.. rather, I'm glad as hell I did, given that he's replacing two Supreme Court justices especially... I really don't want to think about who Kerry would've put up there, GOP Senate majority or no GOP Senate majority.

I agree. I really dislike a lot of what Bush has done, but the supreme court nominations are life time appointments. Judicial advocacy and such a broad interpretation of the constitution that the constitution is irrelavent is dangerous. Both of these things seem more common with liberal judges. It puts too much power in the hands of the court. Which is not elected and therefore is not directly responsive to the people. We need people who show judicial restraint. Roberts sounds like he will. I don't know a thing about Miers.
Then again after their is the whole Katrina mess. I'm not so sure what to think. I think if Kerry was president not so many people would die neadlessly because of inept federal government aid. I'm not convinced Kerry would handle Iraq any better except that I suspect he wouldn't upset our allies so much.
Given a chance to vote again I'd probably just not vote. I don't want to feel guilty for putting into office either of these men.. But if I had to I would still vote Bush because of dangerous trends I've seen with liberal justices, but only by a slight margin and with great pain.

Let me begin by saying that I think Kerry would not have made a good president, he would have been relatively ineffectual. But that is far better than disastrous, which is how I see Bush's presidency.

Roberts has been endorsed several times by the bar as being well qualified, and I have a feeling that Kerry might have nominated him. As for Miers, she is completely unqualified, and is a Bush loyalist who has no reason being nominated.

I would like to know who you think Kerry would have nominated, and if you think they would be worse than the Miers nomination, which is being met with strong opposition from democrats and republicans alike.
