Was considering Agamemnon, then decided that he might not be too good. Can't trust someone prepared to kill his own daughter, besiege an enemy for ten years, and then go and ignore continued warnings that his spurned wife might have it in for him.

Agamemnon was NOT a fictional character. I don't know how much of the stories about him in The Iliad were true, but trust me he was NOT ficiotal. Look him up on a history site.

Well, a lot of people probably don't know who Nobunaga is. Personally, I 'd prefer Toyotomi Hideoshi to Oda but thats just me ;)

Agamemnon isn't just in the odyssey. He is in just about every writing about the Trojan war, ranging from brief mentions in the odyssey to the play Agamemnon by Aeschylus. Also in historical texts.
