Ever noticed how Chavs/NEds/Preps always talk incredibly loud in an incredibly fast manner?

I think its because if they don't talk, they think. The only reason to try and not think is because thinking scares them.

Any other ideas?

Maybe they're convinced that everything they say is incredibly brilliant, witty, and cool. They need to show off how brilliant, witty and cool they are or nobody will know, so they have to talk alot and make sure it's loud enough for everyone to hear.

well, as they say- 'a wise man has something to say, a fool has to say something'

maybe they just fire random opinions/thoughts(though, i use this word very lightly) hoping that they'll get a good response to at least one of them

It's all a conspiracy against you. All of it.

I believe Ford Prefect came up with this one first. If their mouths stop moving, their brains start working.

If chavs were to leave any space between comments, the might actually realise just how much of a retarded jerk they sound, and the shock would cause their tiny brains to implode.

I'm sure I did read a sub-plot about aliens having to talk to avoid telepathy somewhere though but I've got no idea where.
