In which continent do you live?

Green1234

I want to see where are the NS players from. Please also post your real country. :) I will let this poll open for a multiple of 24 hours because I want to have a fair answer.

/note: Australia is in Oceania and it's not very clear if Australia is a continent or not. Oceania surely is not really a continent... I guess. Anyway if you are from Australia vote for Australia and if you are from Oceania, but not from Australia, vote for Oceania.

Let me ask you this: what the hell makes Australia the "world's smallest continent" and Greenland the "world's largest island"? What is a continent supposed to be? "Whatever is bigger than Greenland"? "Whatever some ancient Greek guy thought was one of the three eqal-mass divisions of Earth"? It's senseless!
And it goes further: if Greenland is an island, then it's part of (North) America - I don't thnk it's considered part of Europe. So, why does anybody ask wether the Vikings reached America? We KNOW they reached Greenland, right?
Or is it that you discovered America when you reached the land-mass? Because, then, I have news: Columbus didn't! Or he did, touching a small bit of Columbia on his 6th or 7th voyage - but this only after many Iberian/Italian navigators had started visiting other parts of continental America (Vespucci was one of them).

Stoiber (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stoiber) is a Bavarian politician in a the mould of a long line of Bavarian politicians, who happen to think that Bavaria for some reason needs special treatment in Germany.
The fact that our friend from the mountains ( :p ) should say "Bavaria, Europe", rather than Germany indicates that he is one of those..ahem...Bavarian Patriots. But the word "Stoiberian" I made up.

Erm... You're agreeing with me then. I said that Australia isn't a continent. Neither is Greenland.

It also depends on definitions. When I say "continent", I mean it in the geopolitical sense, which places every nation neatly within a continent and recognises no such thing as a nation-continent.

Also, having both Australia and Oceania in the poll is going to mess things up, since Australians will be ticking either.

Well... maybe they will see Australia and vote it...
The problem is (as somebody said it before) that in some parts of the word the say at school that Australia is an Continent and some say that it is not. (if you look at Wikipedia they say that it is)

The continent of Australia has been inhabited for over 40,000 years by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Long Story:

Sudetenland (today's Czech Republic): Biological Grandfather (this family is an old one, it owned a chocolate factory there and could trace its name back to the battle of Vienna against the Turks)
Eastern Prussia: Biological Grandmother (Allenstein, south of what is today Kaliningrad)
After the war, they both met in Bavaria, where my mother was born.
My Grandfather died young (and no one is complaining, he wasn't what you would call pleasant), so I have a step-grandfather, who's originally from Eastern Prussia as well, and was wounded in Stalingrad.

My other grandfather's family comes from Bochum, that's in the very West - coal mine territory, but the earliest mention of our name comes from some time in the 12th century in Saxony.
My other grandmother is born and bread Hamburgian, which is where my father, and later me was born.

I guess I'm from all over - but biologically I'm not really Bavarian if you take it very seriously.
