Another election, another speech/press conference

I've generally been an opponent of the masses, so I'm going to come right out and say what everyone who voted for me needs me to say.

I've never been a fan of collectivized ethics, which puts me in an interesteing position when it comes to things like 'Parliament' and 'public service.' Many unfortunate individuals, upon becoming elected, are faced with the hideous hell-portal that is the world of public service--they lose their nerve and either abandon their principles completely, hoping they can get away with it, or they forget they had any to begin with.

I'm aware I promised you a minibar if I won more seats, but to hell with that: I want my shit to pass. I can only hope most of my votes were legitimate , and I [i]also hope they came in for the right reasons.

To everyone who didn't vote Reason: you can kiss my hairy white ass.

To everyone who did: The meek will inherit the Earth. The stars are for us.

EDIT: and oh yeah, I guess you can ask me questions/heckle me or what have you. Up with the gates!

Hear, hear!

Well spoken.

As to the vote fraud thing, well although I said I was gonna do that, I actually didnt get around to it. Oh well... next time!

What about the seats? Do you occupy all 5 of 'em? Or do you risk having potentially differing opinions mire the Reason party's onetime uniformity of being?

I dont know yet, really. Truth be told I'll probably just appoint people like anyone else. I kind of didn't expect to get 5 seats anyway, I had actually expected a worse showing. My brother will occupy the second, I know that much at least. I've toyed with the idea of leaving one empty so as to force a tie in a particularly heated issue, provided the MPS can be arsed to vote on them this time. That would really piss some folks off.

Oh, you know your shit will pass, Melkor, IF everyone votes and the silly parties aren’t socialist/conservative fronts. With Reason’s five votes, it can push any liberal social policy along with the socialists and libertarians and any free market policy with the conservatives and libertarians.

Hmm. Well if you are gonna have the fifth seat, I nominate God (http://www.titane.ca/concordia/dfar251/igod/main.html)!

I'm well aware of this. I'm quite happy about it.

Did you think the ads (my A-PAC for one) negatively impacted your campaign? Also, what do you think of the silly parties?

Not really, no.

Also, what do you think of the silly parties?
I think there are two answers to this question, both of which are probably worth saying. The diplomatic answer is that by accepting my seats I'm implicitly asserting their right to run and exist, and under the rules of Parliament I can't necessarily do anything about them just because their manifesto says 3 and 4 when everyone else is talking y and z.

The other, truer answer is that I've got no idea what to expect from many of them and that is undoubtedly precisely what they want. I'm slightly irritated that they hold such 'key' positions, but such is life. I don't suppose this whole thing is such a big deal, all things considered.
